However for almost everybody I would say that Commander Choice is much less important in deciding who wins and loses than basic skills, map design and automatching deciding what teammates/opponents you get.


If you want to take a fundamentalist viewpoint that "Any DLC that affects the gameplay means that game is P2W" then yes the game is P2W.

In practice though that tends not to be the case and other factors dominate rather than Commander Choice.

The worst moment for P2W was a long time ago when both OKH Elite Troops and SOV Soviet Industry came out and both were very, very good. These have been fixed and since then there hasn't been a Commander released that dominates like that.

As for this year, the only two controversial commanders have been OKH Close Air Support and SOV Tank Hunters. The former was a free release from an event, along with a Soviet Commander and released again this year.

Jury is still out on if it is too good because it became very popular two months ago but has now dropped back

Tank Hunters has been around for a while and was regarded as a joke doctrine; now with buffs to the PTRS it is actually good, but still too early to say if it is too good.

There are some whines here and there, but 3v3 and 4v4 heroes with rank position looking like a phone number who rise these whines aren't exactly the most creditable sources to determine what is OP and what is not.

Your first point contradicts the second. If OKW was fine then it wouldn't float insanely huge amounts of MP.

Or possibly they don't need to spend it all because their units are effective and get Vet bonuses to keep them alive?


So yes, if you just build 3 Volks and stall into K-T you will float MP.

If on the other hand you are using:

Raketens
MG-34s
ISGs
PFusiliers
Jeagers and Falls spawning behind the lines so they rarely survive
etc
etc

Suddenly you don't have a float; and that OKW actally have the MP to build PAK43s is a feature not a problem

Really, in so far as this is a problem at all, it applies only to Elite Armoured and Spec Ops

It does, the biggest problem with OKW is the fact you can only spend MP on more infantry, you can't spend it on support weapons, and you can't spend it on vehicles. If you are spending MP on caches your helping drain off that huge float, and being able to build more tanks helps drain it off further.

No you can't spend it on vehicles, that's the point of the faction design.

I have a friend that plays as soviet, and always give me a beating, I shall post it, if he doesn't mind, and play with him.

But by playing as soviet, I think, that bulletinless, the Shock Troops are not that Strong (even though they are still Strong), or maybe it was because I was playing against Assault Grenadiers (won the match, it wsant that easy, but wasn't hard, but I'm now wondering how Assault Grenadiers can be good, but I have not the commander )
