More t34/76 were built than t34/85. Plus I think that the point is that if you could build t34/85 there really wouldn't be much of a point to building the regular t34. And they're not cruddy they just have to be used properly.
by used properly he means as a battering ram...lol, T34-85 should be tier 4 along with the su-85 although the SU-85 should be called an SU 100 and be more expensive, Its at capability and range would better suit it being an SU 100. Then you could keep the T34-85 as it is, remove the ram ability from the T34-85, that will keep the 76 useful.
You could pretend the T34-85 cant ram because it had heavier armour and the guns too long
seriously ram is so stupid albeit necessary, relic would have been much better off making tanks fight like real tanks it would have been so much more fun.

I am having problems with assgren spam, I can sort of counter them but the armour that follows gets me as I have less map control, I do it with cons and shocks then go tier 2, this is so expensive but I found aggressive tier 1 just left me so immobile and it was even more expensive. I find tier 2 better as I can get AT guns.
any advice? |
Don't play with 400+mp cost units against Ass Gren spam, and your maxims come to late.
2 shocks(880) + 120 mortar(400) + 3 cons(720) + 3 Maxims(720) = 2720 Mp
5 cons (1200) + 2 maxims (480) + 1 mortars(240) + 2 Atgun(720) = 2640 Mp
Shocks are powered, but could be stopped by: Mg, FHT, Flakpanzer, Vet Pzgren.
Shock is a crazy unit but sometimes its a pin in your boot.
Keep a closed sector (muni/fuel) with cons + early T2 support (+minning) and run early T3 or T34/85 incomming.
Or
Play an offensive T1 with scout cars and flamers

When ever ive tried a 5 con start ive lost, that's what puts me off this start, assgrens seem to run straight through it, I'm sure better players can do this but unless I can find cover and just hold them off I seem to lose mobility with it, also if I put flame inside halftrack in my experience they just destroy halftrack quickly with small arms fire as you have to get in close.
I will revisit these options.
how can I lead with 5 cons and get a maxim any quicker?
its hard to actually lay mines as very low on ammo, I did lay a couple but time to actually lay it anywhere useful and ammo cost killed mining.

now I know im pretty shit at the game so gameplay advice isn't what im asking for, its a tactic to counter this, the guy im playing is also not that good. well he was the worst player coh 2 could find I suppose in ranked
but I cant think of another unit build to counter this.
Or something else I can bring in the time I have. |

They can take on Panzer IVs now. I had one fight between 2 T-34/85s and 2 Panzer IVs (one vet1) today. I had to retreat both Panzer IVs, as the first P4 went down to 10% health pretty quickly. The other Panzer IV could escape with about half health. One T-34/85 was left with full health, the other one with about 10% health. My 2nd Panzer IV arrived 3 seconds later at this combat though, so that both T-34/85 could focus on the first P4 and get out 1 shot more.
I think they are fine now. The infantry shooting capabilities before were too much. Now it´s decent anti tank. More AT power isn´t needed for the vehicle. People shouldn´t expect to get a Panther counter with this unit. After all the Panther is/ should be the hard counter to tanks.
I think two T34-85's should be able to take on a Panther like their historical counterparts, not for this reason alone, but because it makes the investment make sense, T34-85 should also be a hard counter against tanks also, it shouldn't have to flank a Panthers because although historically in some instances it may have had to there would have been 15 of them so it was viable given Axis other At capability. Still needs a bit of a firepower upgrade against tanks, especially given its nerf against inf. |

Good game , never let Your enemy have a time to reinforce.
He had no choice and no ammo, he couldn't use field repairs with 99 ammo or he would not be able to use mark target or AT nades, game was over when the insta gib rocket truck hit the field, that thing will kill everything unless you can kill the whole Axis army to get close to it. when you think how many T34-85's its gonna take to kill a Panther he would have needed 10.000 manpower and 6000 fuel..lol.
Ram was the only and pretty hopeless option.

In what world did I deserve to win this game, he played better than me all the way through just to get dominated by a single unit, he must have placed 30 mines, had total map control for the whole game.
I admit as he did he made some mistakes late game, But his soviet game was heads and tails above my Axis one.
