Maybe give 120-mm mortars instead of a delayed explosion to give 53-Z-843A incendiary mines? |
What really suitable for the Reserve Army commander. This is, for example, the Siberian regular troops that were in the Far East. They had an SVT-40 and such things as a Dyakonov rifle grenade launcher instead of a Molotov cocktail. |
I haven't checked any historical background, all I know is that Reserve army doctrine used to have irregulars, low durability troops with lmgs. One can try them with the all units mod too.
(There is even an achievement for irregulars, now only obtainable with the all unit mods.)

To be honest, I see no point in the return of the irregulars. To make them authentic, this requires the addition of WW1 weapons and the irregulars were quickly transformed into rifle divisions with standard weapons, because there are no resources to supply all this WW1 stuff. |
I'm still not a fan of the partisan reworks, however it gave me an idea: how about using the proposed rework in this beta for bringing back irregulars in Reserve army doctrine? Instead of the ppsh upgrade path they would have an lmg path. Afaik irregulars weren't meant to be infiltration troops but rather frontline combatants.
Lmg irregulars would have no camo while schreck irregulars would gain camo so they stay similar to the current AT partisans.
The only one who fits the classification of irregular troops in the Red Army is the People's Militia Division. Then it should be a 6-man squad (because they were formed as divisions). But with a variety of weapons. The weapons that are in the game are BAR and Lee-Enfield, SVT-40 and Mosin rifle. |
Tested it multiple times in cheat mode just to add some data versus medium tanks. Planes always attacking from the rear.
Il-2 rocket strafe was more consistent by dealing about 400 damage by nearly every single pass.
JU-87 At-Strafe dealt between 320 and 720 damage (E8 health).
Frontally this looks totally different with IL-2 rocket strafe not beeing worth it. Again Ju-87 for 110 MU, IL-rocket strafe for 125 MU.
I also went to experiment with the cheat mod, and the 37mm strafe can definitely kill the ISU-152 or IS-2 from one pass, or leave them with a minimum amount of HP that just complement the PAK-40 strike. |
Because T-34 ram. Axis stunning abilities (only Target Weakpoint and variants) are defensively orientated. You can't charge into a (heavy) tank and call down the Stuka strafe with them, unlike with a T-34 and IL-2 rockets. Combined with lower cost, it'd be okay for the IL-2 rockets to be less effective.
Then why are you trying so hard to close your eyes to the T-34 ability. But just nerf it by soft removing it from the game. A unique situation arises - a nerf of an ability, but at the same time, there is talk about how we want to leave a unique ability. Just change the T-34 ability. |
Well, CAS single pass can't kill a full Health 800hp tank unlike IL2 which could bring down a 960 HP Panther.
Oh boy, he can. |
it's not just RAM, in 2v2 and above button, tread immobilize ability(AEC) from team mate are much safer, stronger options.
PAK-40 stunning projectile. Each side has something similar, but I don't see the other abilities being nerfed to a pointless state. |
CAS Anti Tank Strafe = 110 MU
IL-2 Rocket Strafe = 125 MU
Can't see this. IL-2 is worse now while costing more MU (similar to JU-87 Loiter in comparison to P-47 loiter).
Does nobody thinks about reducing the price of an ability if nerfing it heavily? IL-2 Rocket strafe should at least penetrate axis tanks from the rear at 100% chance, that would reduce its performance heavily already since you can't take the shortest possible route for your plane approach anymore. As a result this leads to a higher chance to miss completely. Keep ihn mind this is a strafe after all. For a mere 75 MU more you get the Ju-87 AT Loiter, which will deal a guaranted ton of damage if you use it correctly.
Everything is easier. Remove "Ram", change the ability of the T-34 and then there are no excuses for the nerf. |
Maybe focus on the main mechanic of the game - saving the veteran units. And give one free reinforcement in exchange for two lost soldiers. |
