I don't need to ask him about something which hasn't changed for years, used it plenty (more so when Advance Warfare was meta) and have asked for years for anyone to actually fix it and even get it acknowledge by Relic twice (once in this forum). If you strafe someone, from the direction of their base towards yours, if they retreat you might do excellent damage if they still remain in the tracking zone. But towards the sides, in the zone you put it or forward, it can do 0 damage and depending on armor, no dmg at all. In: COH2 Balance

Stormjäger Nah Ask Orangepest where his last vod was when he showcased this ability, I couldn't find it. I've just tested in case i missed any bugfix. It's a bad ability for cost and too unreliable (it doesn't hit as well what you put your crosshair on). At least the USF strafe run (which works more like a bombing run) demolishes support weapons. Stormjäger Then what if instead of extra damage it dealt more suppression to already suppressed units? So that if an enemy rifle squad is suppressed and a mortar shot lands near it, the shot will deal extra suppression. Or you could decrease scatter when targetting suppressed squads. A unit which remains in combat recovers slowly from suppression. The funny thing is that you shooting at them with mortars, you are providing light cover which means they gain suppression recovery. NO to any indirect gaining any sort of suppression atm (not sure if you can implement it so it only deals suppression when a unit is already suppressed). Not sure if you can implement it. It might be possible to make a different barrage mode (akin counter battery) that barrage units which are suppressed and then you make a whole different better profile for it. Still not convinced it would be used at all. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: IL2 Precision strike seems uncounterable2 May 2020, 19:54 PM Reliable means like +80% chance. Something you expect to work and only having small exceptions not the other way round. Test done on a 1v1 map, between 5-10 each, didn't count. All LeFH at full HP. Sexton + Valentine combo >> Anything besides the range of the normal range has way too much scatter even when maintaining vision. Concentrated barrage >> i feel like as long as you can maintain vision, it's reliable that it destroys the LeFH. It's not 80% but i'll say 2/3 times (or better) it destroys it if it's barely damaged. At full HP i'll say 50/50. Flame mortar support: highly variance on performance. It will decrew 90% of the time and the damage done to the weapon itself goes from just 20% up to 90% Precision barrage: is guaranteed. Concentrated fire Operation: feels like it's reliable but i wouldn't say it cause it's high RNG territory. In: COH2 Balance

Stormjäger Well like I said at the top of the page, I’d like to see the Ostheer mortar get faster animation speeds so that it’s more reactive and easier to switch between targets rapidly. I’d also like to see a 10-20% damage increase vs suppressed units. Which i think it's doable right now with small arm fire, specially a single weapon profile. Mortars were made to not kill on 1 shot any models and that would put it back with just a 10% increase. In: COH2 Balance

Nah, it's the MG42 which is why it was made T0. All indirect units are in the lower spectrum of performance (compared to before) and it's fine. If you want to buff it, it should never be in raw damage performance. In: COH2 Balance

Not necessarily the mortar, but you would just need to reduce the penalties (all units have it) when firing upon suppressed squads. IIRC for most weapons, acc modifiers against suppressed units is 0.5 and for pin is 0.25 SMGs are at 0.75 and 0.5 respectively. You could make this apply to Grens Kar. In: COH2 Balance

Can someone test, wether single strafe planes can be shot down, while having to fly over the whole map? In doint care wether one has to use, 20 aa guns. I think, that we should clarify wether it is possible or not. Right now, we only have suggestions. Obviously the plane can be shot down, more so if it has to deliver it's payload in the middle of the map. The problem comes near the edges of the map and how preemptively you need the AA unit to be to the point of having to read the future in order to do so. You can't solve this with changing the speed of the plane, cause the bombs are dropped way before reaching target. Depending on map size and borders, units have little to no time to shoot at them before they drop their content. In: COH2 Balance
