Thread: P2P commanders3 Jan 2014, 08:43 AM They don't dare do any significant nerfs to it. I think it's going to be marginal and I fear it will arrive along with a new super-unit in a future DLC. I see mention of the end-war coming up. Perhaps they plan on adding the Maus? Would be like 4 times TA. In: COH2 Gameplay

Their option to use flames is good per se,but the problem is the low staying power of the penals. You got to monitor their health closely or you risk losing the whole squad in the blink of an eye. Plus the investment in a flamethrower. And if there's something yo don't want to add to an AsGren blob, it'd be free flamethrowers.... In: COH2 Gameplay

They are fun and offer different ways to play and people that whine about em just cant handle getting outplayed and admitting it. The Tiger Ace is powerful but risky as well and it isnt going to win you the game by itself unless your opponent doesnt think and fight it right. Oh yes it is. That is: Unless you are a clueless p2w noob who knows nothing about supporting or repairing an überbossIKILLUunit. Tiger Ace is a beer-n-pretzel unit. But I think that is the chance of that weapon - per se - scoring a hit. But as you write, the fire rate of the M5 quad is much higher, and I believe so is its turret turn rate. In any case t is most definately my experience that it is much harder to down a plane with an Ostwind than a M5. And I use both quite a lot. It's not unusual in team games that I kill 3 or 4 planes. That said, the OH has the AA advantage of having a small anti-air capability on all their tanks - contrary to the soviets. They rarely hit anything, though so it doesn't really matter. Considering how much air is used in games these days, I feel the OH i missing some kind of AA. Like a 38mm emplacement for example. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Confused about building patch cable1 Jan 2014, 21:17 PM I wonder if someone with experience in building his own patch cable could give some advice, please? I had to move my router and in connection with that redo some cabling for the LAN. I read this article explaining that for a router to PC connection, I needed a crossed cable - not a straight through one. I.e. one with a T568A in one end and a T568B in the other end. However, that didn't work. There was no connection. I then examined the cables I had bought and used previously with pre-fixed connectors. I noticed they were straight through cables with identical connectors at both ends. So I redid my own build to be a straight thorugh and that worked - I think. At least I now have a connection through. What I'm unsure about now is if I just read some BS advice or if I'm still mistaken about something? Looking at my router (NetGear) I see that the indicator for the new connection is yellow in stead of the usual green. Does this mean there is an error on the connection? There doesn't seem to be any collisions and internet speed is the same as before. In: Hardware and Tech
Thread: Scout Cars1 Jan 2014, 21:07 PM What I read is ppl asking for something like the Puma (and the Puma was directly mentioned): a unit that can engage infantry and drive them off. While that may be an option by simply increasing the price, I also feel that some players are just being too lazy here. They don't want the hazzle of having to kite infantry. They want an anti-infantry tank that they can park in the middle of the conscript blob. Well, you know what? I don't like that kind of game. I'm perfectly all right with 221/2 and M3 being paper tanks they are. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Another nerf needed1 Jan 2014, 21:00 PM Ostwinds aren't very good at shooting planes down. M5s are much better. Dunno why. Anyway, I think air attacks on both sides need to be toned down. It would be senseless to nerf the soviet strafe only. In: COH2 Balance

Historical OT info btw.: The Soviet Union never repayed neither any of the lend lease nor the loans it got during WW2. In: COH2 Gameplay
