Funny enough: you had full infantry and quantity superiority, and didn't make use of it for the whole first 20 minutes (no cutoff play, no additional capping, nothing). So, no, not any plane crash lost you the game, it just finished what was about to happen anyways. Funny you said that, because I had the impression that you couldn't do anything because you were running into my position and getting reppeled. I don't think I dropped bellow 400 points playing Langerskya from the worse side. This plane just took half of my army and delayed my ISU by quite a margin so unless you're talking about different game than it's all in the replay. In: COH2 Gameplay

I don't mind small scale rng but this kind of crap shouldn't be happening. Yes, I know I might have been able to recover but at that moment my game plan went into oblivion and I wasn't be able to recover! I admit I lost it there being just full of boiling rage. Common it's time to sort this sheep out. It's not good design when stuff like this happens. Easy, create more MP dumps through Opal trucks or increase the price of Volks while increasing their performance. Making things cost more is fine as long as you make sure to adjust the units performance to match the cost. Your also overestimating how much pop cap influences float, OKW floats because it has nothing to spend MP on but more infantry, not because it has to much income or not enough things taking up population cap. Soviet infantry is just as cheap and plentiful as OKW infantry, but your not floating MP because you have access to vehicles. So your solution is to take all of this inflated excess of manpower and transfer it into other resources so OKW can produce even more units with less effort? How this fix the problem exactly? To allow for 10 minute Panther? In: COH2 Balance

But I think a penalty to their MP isnt the way to go. Its their ability to project firepower and melt opposing Infantry especially in a blob. It makes it very easy for them to push an Infantry Force off and if it doesnt work instantly retreat without taking many losses themselves. Combine this with their excellent Vet that is pretty easy to obtain with their AI infantry since its primarily damage based and they DEAL ALOT OF DAMAGE and you see what we have today. Also they arent using Pop cap on alot of vehicles because its easy to get along with just Infantry and maybe 1-2 tanks. Its a huge design issue and there isnt any easy way to fix it without making OKW too weak. TLDR the float is an issue I have NO idea how to fix it without breaking OKW. Interesting points I didn't considered before. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: OKW manpower penalty?16 Apr 2015, 09:26 AM I'll bring this topic back once again instead of creating a new one as I fell OKW has too easy access to this resource. Due to MP float they are able to reinforce their units or even replenish the losses too easily. I think that's due to OKW units being very effective in combat. Instead of tweaking with units them self overall MP penalty (lets say 80%, similar to ammunition) would provide better solution. In: COH2 Balance

The old ram that guaranteed gun knockout kept it viable late game. Right now its a mid game tank which, whilst not being too bad, isnt great at anything, and cant break a late game stalemate where the enemy have heavies. Edit: I think that like with a lot of the soviet units the problem lies not with its stats but with how it suits its role and how the faction is designed. It's an OK tank, but without a heavy alternative its just not the sort of unit you want in the late game I think similar. They removed ram and tweaked some stats but didn't give anything for it. 2 of these can fight against Tiger but they need some good luck to do so, provided they won't get screwed by path finding. You also need to screen it with infantry, which is ok but my biggest problem is that this tank is too fragile to risk chasing. Also I think 100 fuel is tad too much. 95 or 90 would be more reasonable. That said however I got this feeling that with the introduction of British army, we'll have some major balance tweak as it was the case with Western Fronts. Ram was removed because of that as it would be too simple to knock down the only OKW vehicle with it and completely neglect any tank play. In: COH2 Gameplay
