If your sprinting your Jacksons in the range of shreks and racktens then your an idiot. A good player will always keep his Jacksons behind his infantry horde and supported by Scotts and HE Shermans.
OKW has no infantry based counter to the Jackson due to it's mobility and 60 range, the best counter you have as OKW is the JPIV and Panther.
Alternatively as I said earlier if your USF enemy is being a cheeky bugger and blobbing like crazy get a Sturmtiger and make him weep because his Jacksons can't handle a 1280 health unit.
You are talking about utilization of the unit.
It's up to you to get your Shreks at a flank or behind so they can get the Jackson. Also your statement that OKW doesn't have infantry based counter to Jackson remains false as Volks serve this purpose. Being able to create an opportunity for your Volks to engage Jackson is a different story but it is not balance related one. |
I'd like to see 120mm rng squad wipe swapped for more reliable damage with bigger AoE if needed and suppression like with ISG. |
[...]On topic: The issue with the Jackson is that OKW doesn't have an infantry based counter to it since the Rackten only has 50 range. When making armor pushes you HAVE to have JPIV support or else his Jacksons will just kite you all day. [...]
This is gardening gold! How about Volks with Shreks? Jackson do sheep to infantry. Volks squad will just sit in front of it shooting shrecks left and right. If he goes for crash, then you hit him with raketen and other stuff from the second line. |
My biggest concern is the squad wipe potential. |
This is the result of the last year change that reduced the space between unit members so they could fit in the cover better. AoE profiles were never adjusted to compensate and this affects all grenades. |
Hey Alexander if something doesn't have a turret it's usually a tank destroyer.
Lack of turret allows for longer cannon which transfers into higher projectile speed and better ballistic properties (accuracy for example). Higher speed of a projectile means better penetrations as per laws of phisics and few other factors. |
Your whole logic is wrong. OKW floats because of too cheap/ well performing units - not because they have nothing to spend the manpower on. |
If you spam conscripts as Soviets, you won't be lacking for MP income either. The problem is that Soviets have other options other than just getting buttloads of conscripts, those options are not presented to the OKW player because of the artificial income disability.
You can't rely on Volks to deal with enemy infantry, it doesn't work like that. You need to get elite infantry out which takes up a fair amount of population cap and manpower. The issue is that when the mid game hits and every faction starts getting tanks (thus spending MP on them) OKW is sitting around twiddling it's thumbs just being forced to make more infantry.
If you put Opal trucks in, at say 320 MP, you would see a lot less MP float as OKW would have an option to increase fuel and munitions in come at a cost to MP income. This would put them on par with all the other factions, who all have ways to converting MP into fuel and munitions income.
That in addition to say giving OKW more support weapons.
Lets look at infantry unit lists for units dedicated to fighting enemy infantry,
USF mainline infantry:
Riflemen, Para's
Ostheer:
Assault grens, grens, un-upgraded p grens
Soviets:
Cons, Penals, Shocks, Ass guards
OKW:
Volks, Sturms, Obers, Fuss, JLI, Fallsch
OKW has a buttload of regular mainline infantry, but extremely little support weapons
USF:
.50 cal, Pack Howitzer, AT Gun
Ost:
Sniper, Mortar, MG42, Pak 40, Pak 43, LefH
Soviets:
120mm, 82mm, ZiS, 45mm AT gun, B4, M-20, maxim, sniper
OKW:
ISG, Rackten, MG34, Pak43
All the USF support weapons are non-doctrinal, only 2 of the Ost support weapons are doctrine based 4 of the Soviet ones are doctrine based, but come in many doctrines, and 1/2 of OKW's support weapons are doctrinal.
OKW lacks the tools to use combined arms, and it has a fuckload of regular infantry.
Even our game has shown that you're able to replace your Army twice as fast as me due to manpower flood so here goes your complete argument and no, reducing MP by allowing OKW to build caches so they can spam tanks is terrible idea that would brake the game similar last year March development. I don't understand why you can't see this. |
Eh, i wasn't your enemy that game.
I was plainly talking about the replay / game you complain about. Watch it yourself, you could have won the game early on easily.
And half your army was gone after one Stuka bomb + suicide rush for the P4 kill (which didn't even work).
Just my 2 cents: you did well, but i think you underestimated your own strength for way too long, and gave your enemy a chance to recover. Then you suicided too much stuff, and actually lost.
I wasn't talking about that. It was Mark Target plane shot down by Ostwind that crashed on my mortar, MG, ZiS gun and some infantry. Miss click cost me one T-34 and than this pesky PzIV managed to hide inside the base with a sliver of health left while I got stunned by a PaK.
I had ISU coming and with all this support the game would be over if it was for this plane crush. I lost my cool after that and made a lot of errors which cost me the game. I agree about that.
Anyway I guess you need to keep your Zen going no matter what
Still point remains valid. This kind of RNG shouldn't be happening. Small scale is OK, but loosing half of your army that's not cool. |
The MP float doesn't happen until mid to late game, if you spammed Opal trucks you would have no infantry to speak of. I think your forgetting OKW has the least starting MP of any faction in the game.
I also suggested that the basic OKW infantry gets better but more expensive, which would also help fix the float. USF has effective but expensive basic infantry and they don't float at all!
No, you buy your initial squads and if you didn't take any serious losses during engagement you start floating MP waiting for tanks. If you're smart and take your fights wisely you can hold on to your side of the map and using Flack truck sit tight until tanks arrive without any other spending. OKW early game ahsn't been affected by last patch if I remember correctly.
If you will be able to use this outstanding manpower to convert it into other resources you will be able to field Panther in like 10th minute of the game which is unbalanced as f'''k. |
