Please correct my math if it's wrong, but from that I'd say the armor is an issue too. In beta I remember blowing up KV-8s like nothing (maybe it was rng luck?) so their flame DPS wasn't much of an issue if it was a trade of 1 gren squad before KV-8 got intercepted and blown up, but now I can't kill the damn things. Is this calculation done for attacking frontal armour? If it is then you're doing it wrong. KV-8 is a heavy tank with a survivalibity of a heavy tank. Always flank it. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: MG42 Post Patch13 Sep 2013, 15:03 PM Suppression is fine as it is atm. MG42 still suppress almost instantly. Squads aren't get pinned instantly and that's the only reason people complain and think is crap. Most people are not even considering changing their habits and finding new strats, build orders or even ways to fully utilize MG42 after the changes again. You can find a lot of material that will help you achieve this. Search for expert replays to watch, casts of popular Youtube casters like Imperial Dane or Atr3uh. All the nerfs are here for a reason. - to prevent MG42 from instantly pinning squads, - to reward flanking, - and to prevent MG42 from switching targets like crazy so you can't hold the whole advance of Soviet army with one unit and force retreat. The only thing I think could be improved is set up time. It could be smaller by a notch. In: COH2 Balance

I know it's not ideal and opponent wasn't the greatest one but you will find that general rules apply. Keep it behind, keep it safe, support your army with it. Don't support MG42 with your army. Game is again 2v2 but this is my favorite game mode. I didn't know my teammate before this game just to clarify. Replay is rather short and with not so much of entertainment value but this wasn't the purpose of it. I find that after the recent patch Germans aren't that boring to play anymore and I might just prefer them over Soviets now General concept of how to use MG42 after the patch In: COH2 Balance

Thread: MG42 Post Patch13 Sep 2013, 07:49 AM Had a couple games as a Geramn yesterday night and I confirm that MG42 is still a powerful unit when used correctly. We've lost the match (2v2) but due to Katyusha's and my teammate saving for Elephant rather than fielding some tanks. I find games more enjoyable after recent patch with higher number of skirmishes throughout and more intence fighting at the beginning. Previously it was to static as all you have to do is to dig in with MG and tech to tanks. Now you're really fighting over the land. As I have said on official forum it will be intersting to see how the meta game will evolve. In: COH2 Balance

Something have to be done, as I am sure that wasn't intentional design decision. I sustain my opinion regarding countering it and trying to fight it with Panzer Grenadiers though. In: COH2 Balance

As I said this is a very subtle problem but I do believe that soviet players are given too big of a cushion when using conscripts against MGs. Soviet players shouldn't be allowed to react late when they get caught in a MG42. Currently they can. But in reality patch removed instant pin (I'm not forgetting about 25% dmg). It's not that MG doesn't suppress now. It still does and still does it pretty quick. It doesn't pin squads after 2nd burst anymore and that's good. Stand alone MG should be flanked by 2 squads. 1 drawing attention and other one flanking yet you guys still expect MG42 to be able to handle multiple units at once like it was before. In: COH2 Balance
