MGs are meant to suppress one unit apiece (assuming no micro). Not to negate entire groups of infantry by simple virtue of existing. Even the Dushka (or however it's called) cannot do that. I had some silly ideas before (like T-34/85 issue) and it has been pointed out to me as such. Nothing bad in being wrong. As to any "irony", I have over 100x more posts than you, have read everything there is to read here, have been here since launch, and the majority of of balance issues Ive supported/proposed have been implemented. Even after starting playing Sov, none of my previous views have been significantly changed, infact they have now been informedly reinforced. They where as accurate then as they are now. You, on the otherhand, are just blatatantly ignored and laughed at by every quality poster Im in contact with. Their advise is to just completely disregard you, and that you simply destroy discussion and provide nothing of value. Just derailment, incorrect info, missing the point, having no actual idea what you are talking about and ultimately being irreversibly Sov biased. Ive asked you several times previously to not address me, but even that, you cant or wont stop. Your posts, in this thread alone, inlight of the impending and justified MG42 changenthat you refused to acknowledge, are standing testimony to that. I have no interest in your views whatsoever, and nwither does any other informed poster. I ask you, dor the third time now, to never again address me. I want nothing to do with you. This change shows how incredibly offbase in terms of balance perspective some of the extremely biased Sov posters here are. Not that that is anything new. Its been the same on every required and subsequently implemented nerf of Sov. Its a shame really, and massively lowers the quality of discussion. The MG42s suppression rate is underperforming vs especially Oorahing Cons. I find it difficult to fathom how anyone who cares even an inkling of better objective, unilaterl balance, refuses to or is unable to see that Cons being able to approach MG42s THROUGH THE ARC was seriously imbalanced. Its like these people dont care at all, and even worse, want to deliberately shit on balance discussion for their own selfish interests. Ill be applying to the beta in the next round of invites (if they'll have me). Unfortunately public discussion on these boards, of needed changes has become so polluted by a group of deliberately beligerent, dishonest, selfish and destructive posters that its frankly no "fun" anymore. There is little integrity, responsibility for ones words or claim, nor respect for the arguments of others (even when backed by video or stat evidence). I want to discuss with people who are intelligent, admit their mistakes when they make them, post as objedtively and selflessly as they can, on issues that really have nothing to do with personal ego or preference, but with helping make a better game for everyone, who take the time to back up their arguments with rational explanations and at best also evidence. I say this as someone with the highest post count here, who has participated in the majority of discussions, and who has ACTUALLY READ every single post on the CoH2 Central tab since launch. There are only a handful of posters left here who can and do deliver quality balance discussion, and I appreciate them all the more for their scarcity. But even most of them have simply moved to PMs because they cant be bothered with the incesant derailing, trolling, deliberate vested misrepresentation and frankly ego driven rather than balance driven lower quality of posting in recent months. I receive PMs and steam chat invites weekly about how people agree with necessary balance points, but cba to post due to what happens here if they do. The majority of good posters, the ones who really can deliver, have already gone lurk/PM mode, because they cba with the shit here. I will probably soon join them in that. No doubt most of the actual trolls and ego driven discussion destroyers here will count that as a victory, but you know what? I dont care. As far as Im concerned, anyone posting is only as valuable as the actual content of what they post, and there is precious little left of that. If you want shit-tier discussion, because that is the only level you can reach, then you are welcome to it. Id rather move into forums and formats with people that still give a shit about a better game and are prepared to spend time and effort to help result in that. Dont get me wronf, Coh2.org is still a great. Better than great, excellent. The site format, structure and functions are some of the best Ive ever seen in a gaming site. Moderation is also largely excellent, with only some few exceptions. Genral policy of non-intervention has helped the community internally deal with the stress some posters put on the community. But, Its some of you, the posters, that have reduced quality here, from what it was. This is no longer unilateral, informed, objective balance discussion, with effort and time invested, with evidence and rational explanations, with respect and recognition given where deserved, with a tone of argument that is honest, with open admittance of ones own mistakes (which we all make) and most detrimental of all, it is no longer about balance. Youve managed to bring quality down to your own low level, instead of, together, trying to reach something greater. Congratulations. Hope you enjoy the result. It's ironic this words come from you since you only look at things from German perspective and many people consider you German fanboy. You won't admit your mistakes or provide counterarguments only start to attack the person. I suspect after MG42 suppression changes you will whine about 4 man squad sizes and how this affect you faction completely ignoring other aspects like rifle nades and German mortars accuracy. I don't think suppression change will impact my gameplay at all. I am not saying it is not needed, quite the opposite, but as I always use two or more squads to approach defensed lines it won't change my play style. Unless they will over buff it again or nerf to maxim will be too much. On the side note with the recent or should I say no changes at all to Soviet Industry and silliness of Tiger Ace I don't think I will be playing this game anymore. I just can't take it seriously. Its a ridiculous and naive comparison, and serves only to derail the topic. Further fun facts regarding MT. It turns ATNades to the equivalent of 150dmg, which is 30 more than a T34s normal penetrating shot, and increases Ram dmg to 240, which is the equivalent of 2 T34 normal penetrating shots. T34s hit for equivalent of 180 with MT on. ZiS hits for 240 with MT. For reference, PIV and T34 both have 640hp. PIV does 160dmg. Funny how you neglect any argument focusing only on what you're saying. It's not clicking the target and damage is done with MT. You still need other unit to actually deal the target. Few posts above I gave you example what happens when you overextend yourself with MT and a lot of ppl said how to counter it. Now the important thing: This ability barley makes so Soviet tanks got a fighting chance 1 on 1 against German armour. With this ability you are able to go head on with T-34/76 against PzIV or T-34/85 against Panther or SU-85 against Tiger (although Panther and Tiger will still beat their respective opponents). It only affects ONE tank and last for 1 minute. It doesn't magically destroy tanks. It costs pretty hefty 80 munitions and you can maybe use it 2-3 maybe 4 times in a game with that price unless you dominate your opponent. In: COH2 Balance

I'd just say scrap the utterly junk CoH2 infantry combat system and revert weapon stats to CoH1--then you can work from there, because, as you suggested null, the MG42 was the suppression tool and the M1917A1 .30 cal was the ender of worlds if it caught a squad all alone within its arc of fire. +1 In: COH2 Balance
