Pretty much agree with nothing he said except for some minor Ostheer things (FHT upgrade should be cheaper because it's just competing with far more viable munition abilities at the point in the game it is in now, and the good old german T4 in 1vs1 issue). People seriously need a reality check here. You need to make your opponent lose connection to the Relic servers to get a win here. This is several orders of magnitude harder than the "drophack" of CoH1 where you just ctrl-alt-delled coh/pulled the ethernet cable out/whatever to kill your connection (which made it a dispute game and the dispute system was pretty amazingly broken). It seems amazingly unlikely that there'd be a single person with the know-how and required tools (like a botnet for DDoS) playing this game who'd be so desperate for wins that he'd do this against random players. What game are you playing? Because it sure isn't the one I am. Penals start off by not being able to compete with grens. They can compete with grens even less in the long run once LMGs start appearing. And they are insanely vulnerable to vehicles Penals start off by not being able to compete with sturmpios. Once elite infantry starts hitting the field from OKW they do even worse. Vet3 penals vs vet0 fusiliers with g43s? Fusiliers win. Vet0 fallschirms vs vet3 penals? Fallschirms win. Vet0 obers vs vet3 penals? Obers win. And against penals you can just spam pumas to counter everything the soviet player will have. Penal combat capabilities scale ever so slightly better due to their vet than conscripts. But in no way is this extra scaling anywhere near as useful as ATnades on cons or the ability to not have resources wasted on T1. I'm not sure there is a single point in time in any matchup where you'd have more firepower on the field by having gone for penals than you would by just spamming cons, and cons don't suffer from the same utter inability to do anything to vehicles that penals do. I find your hand-eye coordination issues interesting, you apparently find it easy to flank the .50 cal with its 1.375 second setup time but have extreme difficulties with the maxim's 1.5 second+motorcycle movement logic induced delay. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Jagdpanzer vs Panther: Jagdpanzer has more range and fires faster, more accurately, for less resources. Panther is still a bad choice for any situation in 1vs1, only useful in large team games where durability and ease of use outweight bad cost performance. Panzer 2 is very similar, it's slightly more durable and a lot more mobile and a hell of a lot less cost effective. It has bad damage against all units and no suppression, and less range. In 1vs1 you should never even consider Pz2, just go for the flak HT instead. Placing puma in T1 with ISG would mean OKW gets every single unit they actually need from T0+T1. In: COH2 Balance |
