What about panzergrenadiers? How do you justify this 40 reinforce and 1.13 recieved accuracy at 4 men and 340 mp.
They're fine, don't expect them to be shock troops. They're not units you want to make on all maps and against all matchups, just like you don't really want thompson paras on langres.
Also what about tech costs..even with ur changes t4 will remain inaccessible and tiger meta same.
OKW and USF tech costs need fixing. And by fixing I mean they need to go up. Soviet and Ostheer tech costs are very similar, soviets just have more choice on skipping stuff.
Ostheer tech costs should be changed so buildings are the expensive part and the tiering costs are low, so skipping buildings would actually make sense. But don't pretend that ostheer T3 wouldn't already be viable. |
Take 20MP off pioneer cost. Not worth the premium they cost now.
Make grenadiers buildable from HQ to mirror other factions
Reduce HMG42 setup time by 0.5 seconds
Give sniper 8 more hp.
Done. Ostheer issues are not mid or lategame, their issue is that they can be rushed in the first few minutes and pushed off the map. Unit selection is fine, unit performance is fine after you have several squads, but individually in the very early stages their units are lackluster. A single grenadier squad against a single con or riflesquad does nothing but bleeds the ostheer player unless the allied player picks a very bad engagement, yet that's the only engagement you can take in the first 4 minutes. |
no, they won't. small arms at least scale with the cost of the squad (an LMG34 on an ober squad does more damage than on cons, although it's still insanely good anyway you look at it). i don't know about ballistic weapons though, which includes schrecks and bazookas.
Untrue. Some default weapons units use have been scaled for cost, such as shock PPSH being far better than any other PPSH in the game, or assgren MP40s being stronger than Pioneer MP40s, etc. Droppable weapons will not magically change performance when picked up by another squad, an irregular LMG42 is horrible even in the hands of a grenadier, and a grenadier LMG42 is awesome even in the hands of an irregular.
some squads have a base accuracy modifier regardless of weapon they carry (grens and assault engineers come to mind) so if they pick up weapons they will function better than on other squads
True yet kinda inaccurate, effectively every single squad in the game except rear echelons has this modifier. 95% of units have 15%, a few more expensive units like shocks and PGrens and for some reason assgrens have 20%.

Osttruppen say "incoming artillery". When actually nothing is happening...
They say it in response to oorah, because of what it is classified in the game files.
When your own mortar sinks your own tank on ice |
1. OKW has exactly 2 indirect fire units, the worst one in the game, and arguably one of the best and NOTHING ELSE.
True.
2. Zero medium armor, If you know how to crush, and actually support your tanks with infantry, you can very easily annihilate a OKW player by just forcing a retreat and just driving over his infantry at his medi HQ. Late game is really were OKW shines.
JagdPIV is the best tank destroyer out the earliest. If you're really getting rushed so badly, learn to love it.
3. Lack of counter to scout car spam, yes no fausts means your scout cars are free to roam the map wiping squads while the OKW player prays his first shrek doesn't miss.
Cheap mines and flakht are a better counter than fausts from a platform as fragile as grens if you ask me. M3 is absolutely dead against OKW. Not that snipers really fare much better because it's so easy to just overrun them as OKW.
4. Lack of counter to AA HT, just keep your HT slightly out of range of their shreks and watch as you keep entire armies at bay! Also bonus points for killing a Puma with you AA HT.
If you lose puma or flakht to american flakht you are bad. USF AA HT has no ground attack, just smoke and it can do absolutely nothing to you.
5. Utter lack of counter to Howitzers! Enjoy wiping 3-4 squads per shell as you rain screaming hot death on their HQ's!
Salvage Doctrine |
Got jaeger armor, but no jaeger infantry. I'd dare say if your correct, it would be because it "used" to be one of them.
It's still a non-premium commander, so if you don't have it that means that new players now are starting with less commanders than people who started before warspoils was implemented, which would be pretty ridiculous. |
That's actually a really good post. I read it sometime over the last week or so and it really made me wan to take a look into it....then I realized I didn't have either of the commanders
How can you not have Jaeger Infantry, which atleast used to be one of the three commanders in the starting ostheer loadout? |
PE and Brits were always considered broken and overpowered. (because they're made by different people who designed the original factions and the OF factions, they're the same people that went on to develop COH2 ) But it isn't really 'vCoh' which is just americans and wm. i'm sure you know that, you might've forgotten or something
1. Go check the credits and be amazed. You won't see many differences between CoH and OF, the team changes mostly came with ToV.
2. He said CoH1, not vCoH.
3. None of this matters because like said there were no such modifiers except on Pioneers and even that was implemented because piospam was too much for Brits. |
In CoH1 was simply debuff, if you keep soldiers in blob (recieved accuracy). And it is logical, more soldiers in one place = more targets.
One single squad in CoH1 had a negative blobbing modifier, Wehrmacht Pioneers.
All PE units GAINED stats for blobbing together (shared veterancy and with upgrades got stat bonuses as well for every unit nearby)
ALL Brit units GAINED stats for blobbing together near officers (shared veterancy + actual stat bonuses)

the t-34 is still a better ai tank then the p4 because of the lower scatter
This has only been untrue for 9 months now, it is simply cruel to expect people to have caught up with that change.
T34's primary anti-infantry weapon are its threads. The gun might as well not exist 95% of the time.
