Why are you complaining about lmgs? Look at their carriers. Some shitty units, very close to osttruppen. Oh, yeah, they are called "grenadiers".
LMG grens are beast, and they have faust and rifle nade, possibly the best baseline inf in the game right now. Osttruppen are super cost effective but require more micro to be as effective.
My problem with LMGs is how cost effective they are compared to other upgrades for core infantry.
Rifles will beat Grens, but LMG Grens will beat 1xBAR rifles most of the time and still have a good shot against 2xBAR rifles.
Whether this means LMGs need a nerf or other upgrades (especially BARs) need a buff is the question.
This has more to do with the BAR being the most cost ineffective infantry upgrade in the game rather than the general effectiveness of LMGs, but I haven't played enough of the meta to know for sure.
Thats funny I have had that same thing happen to me quite a few times, even notice once i was building two motars but was unable to cancel them. I think it mite be a bug
ARRRGH this happens to me too, I drag select my units and press reinforce, and I start building 2-3 ostheer mortars...I know I didn't click on the building directly, the fact that this happens to other people makes me wonder if it's a bug as well.
I wouldn't really consider 4 of a basic, non-weapon team squad to be spam.
Anyway, I feel that you are not really accounting for the fact that most of the things you describe are intentional. Grenadiers w/ LMGs are intended to be able to shred Cons at medium long-range - without this, Grens would be near-useless and not worth building at all. Just think about how much of a nerf to Ostheer your suggestions would be. Is it really true that LMG DPS is breaking the game? It was tuned down about 3 weeks ago in a major patch, and I would argue that reducing this any more would severely damage faction balance. As it stands, LMG Grens are strong 1v1 against other infantry squads at medium-long range, but there are many counters and many other situations in which they do not perform as effectively. Same goes for Rifles.
You also need to consider the fact that 4 x LMG upgrade = a huge 240 munitions. This represents a very significant trade-off against grenades, mines, Panzerschrecks, arty and a lot of other things.
Very reasonable and well thought out, I agree with everything said here
A bomb strike is called in on my schwerer HQ but it's at 90% health it'll be fiiiine right? WRONG the plane gets shot down by the flak gun, crashes into the truck, then all the bombs land and finish it off.
It is very obvious that they did this patch because they did not have time to do a "real" patch so they just apply some quick fixes to bring balance into a better state. Then they go back to working on new SP, obs mode, etc. I think they are barely making any effort to bugs and balance at all. If anything we should consider ourselves lucky they even bothered with this much.
The last big balance patch was 10 days ago, and it was massive. I think enough time should be given to let all the changes settle, while using small hotfixes where needed. They are releasing pretty steady patches about once a month which I feel is a good rate. Not sure why a significant balance patch every 2 weeks is desirable. Also, the last patch had a ton of bug fixes, although sadly introduced several more.
Just had a game on rails and metal which was pretty pretty intense.
We lost with 0 to 9 points but all in all it was a gg but there is one thing that bothers me.
Remember about half a year ago when 90% of all games went ISU vs Elefant?
The time has come back but change Elefant to Jagdtiger.
On wide range maps against at least one soviet it's either Jagdtiger or lose.
I know there are hundreds of ISU-threads in this forum but I try to address the actual meta problem.
From all meta problems (Kübelwagen, Sniper, Maxim Spam) this is IMO the worst.
As OKW you know there is only one commander to choose.
As OST, well, lol.
I only go jagd if I see my opponent has an ISU commander, its just too much of a risk not too. That being said, I really don't enjoy that play style and will usually go with something a little more mobile if I'm not worried about an ISU.
I dont think resource reduction or any balancing based on 3v3 and 4v4 is good for the game.
Even in 1v1 the OKW had more than enough munis for 3+ shrecks, mines, and arty strikes. I pretty much never gave a shit about munis as OKW and it felt kinda silly.
