In CoH2, the entire paradigm of unit preservation vs purchased veterancy has been completely abandoned. This is a real shame, since I think that is where vCoH in the US vs Wehr balance was really a pinnacle achievement. That was a real vCoH trademark and progression of the RTS genre, and its a shame they didnt build upon that strength in CoH2, though I dont blame Relic for trying "something new".

I think purchasable veterancy doesn´t work with Coh2. Imagine you could purchase vet 1 for every tank and every tank would have blitzkrieg. That would be way to much. Also it´s much more fun and rewarding to vet up your units by skill. I really feel like I achieved something when my Panther reaches vet2. In Coh1 this was just a matter of time. Although I dislike the fact that the vet0 Panther is pretty weak armored. You could avoid that in Coh1 as you could buy the vet and then all your Panthers had decent armor with vet1.

It is extremely strong on all the German vehicles particularly the p4 and the halftrack.

It´s tough but not too tough. A small reminder: Vet2 on a SU-85 enables the vehicle to kill StuGs with two shots. If you kept your Panzer IV alive for so long (it reaches vet2 with roughly 40 infantry kills or some vehicle kills), it deserves this buff.

I loled. Su-85 didn´t outrange German tanks. It was pretty much the other way around. Germans had better optics, crews and whatnot. ISU-152 could fire like once a minute, not every 10 seconds. Even for an only inspired game that´s not top notch. They kinda flipped the roles with Russians generally outranging the Germans.

Let me guess what this suggestion is about. German tanks are supposed to break down more often than the T-34? Am I right? Well, if we hit this level of realism I want the highest range possible on Panthers and very accurate shots for the Germans (right now the 88 strangely misses a lot on high range).

Right now your tanks drive around with a damaged engine like half the time anyway. As soon as they hit combat they get mined, fausted, at-naded or the crew shocked. So, I don´t like this suggestion.

The Elefant can´t hit anything but tanks. A supported ISU-152 is borderline OP. It can oneshot whole squads and 2 shot StuGs and Panzer IVs. Supported by SU-85 it can´t be countered.

They seriously should think about giving the thing a more realistic reload time. The real ISU-152 could fire ONCE A MINUTE, not every 10 seconds. Of course it shouldn´t fire once a minute for gameplay reasons, but a shot every 10 seconds is ridiculous. -.-

Germans soldiers were/are not "stronger" especially in 1944 and they're not superman, but i degrees this is not about history this is about balancing in a video game .

I´m not coming up with some racial bullshit here. As a matter of fact Germans deployed MGs on a much bigger scale than any other nation of the war. Also they were for the last years of the war almost always on the defensive. This explains the higher losses for Russians. Now for the video game: The 42 has to remain strong for the German player not to get flooded by more numerous Russian infantry. The bigger Russian squads are more resistant to snipers, artillery, they can recrew stuff without retreating (1 man left for Germans after recrew) and urah around the map. If the 42 gets overnerfed the balance will be screwed the other way around.

The should be beaten by an is2 the mere fact you even said that is ridiculous, the fire rate doesn't even matter. Only a fool pays 300 fuel for a tank that only fights infantry.

I agree that the IS-2 should be cheaper than 300 fuel. That´s too much. Yet it shouldn´t "reliably" take out Panthers. It should be a rather even match. Panther is anti-tank after all and doesn´t seem to have much benefit over the Panzer IV. The overeffectiveness of the Su-85 is always defended, as the Su-85 is anti tank. As the Panther sucks much more versus infantry compared to the IS-2, it should come out on top in a 1v1 tank fight.
