It might be worth adding t1-t4 in the glossary. Encountered a few players who didn't know what this meant. |
This thread was an interesting read. Added a few movies to my watch list. Thanks.
Curious what you guys think about:
Unbreakable (2000): It is a slow movie, but I think the pace works and I really enjoyed it.
Kick Ass (2010): I thought this movie did a really good job of being fun while still maintaining serious undertones.
The Other Guys (2010): One of my favourite comedies of all time. |
Joint Operations Commander.
1. Light Artillery Barrage - Good throw-in bucket considering not much else munition ability-related tied into the commander itself.
2. Howitzer - Always a nice little treat, better pay-off in 2s/3s/4s however, due to it's demanding manpower cost. Can get a great performance with the bulletin relatated to it, that makes it only have a rough ~10s window between it's barrages.
3. Pak43 - Absolute beast of an AV source for the mid-late game, can also be effected by the German Officer for even faster rate of fire of course.
4. Officer - Underutilized, but has so much excellent abilities at his disposal. Creative minds can utilize his faster rate of fire abilities + accuracy benefits to great effect. Throw it in on Snipers, MGs, Mortars or whatever you see fit. For only 240 manpower as well. And he has 4.0 armor iirc, so ... yeah, he's tough.
5. Recon Plane - Solid, never goes wrong. Helps out with the PaK + Howitzer useage, as well as planning ahead.
This guy. Every ability is good and that howitzer is absolutely brutal. |
Noun, my point is, VonIvan is not a hacker. And, no, I'd never give my account to anyone. I find it ridiculous you are persecuting a person for his beliefs, and accusing me of things too! I hope you are the one who feels better that you are losing a customer for life. You are making me feel harassed.
edit: typo
Noun misunderstood what you were saying when you said "Ban my account too". I think his answers make that obvious. And when he mentioned the Ivan hacking thing, he said plainly and openly that it was probably nothing, but that they would look into it. He did not say that that was the reason for Ivan's current suspension. |
Of all people Americans have the most warped view of the Soviet role in WWII.
I'm not sure about the campaign (I haven't played it), but one of the things I like about this game in general is that its not claiming that the Americans won the war with the invasion of Europe (which a lot of people believe, not just Americans).
As for the campaign, although I haven't played it myself, I think it would be quite hard to not cast the Soviets in at least a partially negative manner, without appearing completely biased. |
I can imagine it would be quite annoying if you were to move a mg/pak with a unit of infantry and each took a completely different path to get to the destination.
I don't mind having the path that everything can take as the default path. |
What doctrine are you normally going? There are a lot of abilities that can help you.
If you're able to chase away his infantry or else make his tanks move, you have a good chance of breaking the line and killing the su85s. So strafe, off map arty, on map arty, pak43s, smoke, etc.
As Sudden Death said, a few replays would help, but just speaking generally about a couple of the things you've said.
Re MG vs HTD cons: Cons can't HTD if they're suppressed, so your mg should be able to help here (at the very least, make them hit the dirt pre-emptively.
PG vs HTD cons: I would assume you are trying to use your PGs to get at the SU85. So map dependent, if he is hitting the dirt, try just walk away. Shreks are pretty good at long range and cons aren't, so you can have some fun with that. I would say try to not toss nades if you can avoid it. Rather conserve the munitions (although some people may not agree with this). Obviously this still leaves the snipers to deal with though.
I hope this helped a little. |
I find the german docs more useful than the soviet ones.
Most games I've accounted for a fast ht and won't be forced into a doctrine for an easy counter. I can be forced into something if I make a big mistake early, but I try to not let that happen (obviously).
Once you haven't been forced into anything, you can make a a more informed choice about what you need and how quickly you'll be able to finish off the game (so you don't end up with hit the dirt in a 1 hour game).
But on the whole, if I could pick german docs as the soviets, I probably would do that most of the time. They seem a lot more helpful generally. |
I must agree with WarMonkey. I am really happy with the game. I don't think I would be able to go back to CoH1 now... |
