Tigers are still in half of the docs while it should be in a 1 or 2
Lol wut? Why do you create 'issues' where there are none?

So instead of fixing Counter Barrage that makes Advanced Emplacement so tedious to play against, they decided to nerf the hitpoint bonus.
Probably still need to make some money |
The 380 is a rebranded card from 2014. They took the R9 285 and slapped a new label on it. If you cant swing the 390 or 390X then just wait.
Hey man, thanks for your post. The thing is, I'm in Pakistan, and the cost of the higher end graphic cards is AT LEAST a hundred dollars more than it's actual price, due to taxes or whatever. However I have an opportunity right now because someone I know will be visiting from the US next month, so I can just order the card for it's actual price via them. Not sure when this opportunity materializes again, so I'm gonna bank on it.
Keep in mind that all of the following is whilst streaming
I play the game on the second highest setting and I'm around 40-50 fps (not including the horrible menu fps ofcourse )
This is my processor and mobo
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 4460 CPU @3.20 GHz
Mobo : Gigabyte Tech Z97X Gaming 3
As I said, the processer does it's job but I'm probably gonna upgrade it anyway.
I have an MSI 4GB R9 380 and i absolutely love it, i have it with an i5 4590 and it runs great.
On Coh 2 i have everything maxxed out (and i mean everything) at 1080p, and on 1v1 i get pretty solid 50-60fps,the problem is in larger team games when late game comes, and Coh 2 wonderful optimization shows up, i get fps drops and usually end with lower framerates (20-30)fps. Never actually tried to lower the graphics because i dont mind playing coh at that framerate.
Other games just run fine and smooth (for example BF4 everything on ultra and never dips below 60fps), even Star Citizen on Arena Commander at very high settings never goes below 45 fps.
I dont thing there is a better card at that price range
Thanks guys, great insights. I've finalized on the R9 380.
dont buy Asus brand
buy msi shappire or xfx r9 380
asus suck
Ja, I'm getting the Sapphire Nitro!

I'm using the R9 380 and I'm very pleased with it. It makes COH2 look amazing. The only drawback I have is that it lags sometimes when I'm streaming but that's more CPU related on my end.
I find it to be the best GPU in that prize range and it won't let you down
Hey Kluge, thanks for the response man. 2 questions for you:
1) What settings do you play COH2 on? And what FPS do you get?
2) Which processor do you have? |
Hi all, I'm considering a GPU upgrade form my current R7 260x. My budget is about 200-220 USD, and within this range I've narrowed down the R9 380 (4GB Asus Strix).
I'm running an i5 4460 with 8 gigs of RAM and I play in 1080p. Currently, with my existing setup, I've set everything to medium, with AA off. I can get decent 70+ FPS most of the time. With the GPU upgrade, I aim to max out COH2 (not necessarily AA - can keep this to low/med).
Is this a reasonable goal? Would you recommend this GPU? Any community members using it? Please share your experiences. |
Because the majority play team games whre strategy and skills are of utmost importance. 1v1 is just about a regular build order or reliance on some op units or P2W.
Team games are now broken thanks to the constant efforts by relic during the past year to make the game the way some "top" players approve of.
Let's deal with the truth, no one plays 1v1, and team games are broken as hell.

haven't seen one in ages ,because i rage quit when i see people building the first mortar pit
|
Alright while i agree with the cancerous emplacements. Most players tend to build closely together. Here is the best counter, MHT PLUS a mortar and a fast 222. They will be hurting pretty bad as far as manpower goes and the constant flaming of his emplacement will cause casualties while he is repairing. I do this all the time and win if the game doesnt go on for to long without killing an emplacement. You will have more presence on the field. Once anything goes brace ATTACK hard with flamers, 222, leig, shreks, etc... They are hard to kill (harder than it should be) but it can be done and for the brits it comes at a price.
It's only 400 manpower mate. And when you think of it, it's not THAT much. Since you're using your emplacements to do your fighting for you, you end up saving a lot of MP on by not having to reinforce as often. You take one down, they build another. It's the same for bofors. Absolutely ridiculous. |
Absolutely cancerous in 2v2s. Completely against the concept of the game. Makes for BORING and cancerous annoying static gameplay. The main reason why I play significantly less 2v2 now. |
hei,
how does OKW deal with blobs mid to late game? which non-doctrinal counters exist?
imo the walking stuka is overnerfed and furthermore really easy to dodge
you have no non-doctrinal mg
the flak halftrack is useless once the enemy has a pack or a sufficient number of zooks/piats
you have no demo
mines suck against blobs (no suppression like in vcoh)
To my knowledge, the Walking Stuka hasn't been nerfed even once since release. It only got a few buffs, when its veterancy requirements were lessened.
As far as blobs are concerned, a P4 is pretty good vs infantry. It vets up quite rapidly too. Late game, you have KT. Vetted Obers in cover shred infantry. Timing your Stuka barrages so that they hit the USF forward retreat point as the squads retreat can pay off quite nicely. You can see the Major's FRP in the FOW by looking for the antennas. Sturmtiger is also an option, albeit not very reliable. |
