Do the larger maps favor the Russian player a bit more? I can barely eek out any wins vs inferior Russian players on those larger maps like Moscow Outskirts and Minsk Pocket. While I completely dominate Russians on the smaller maps I seem to not get into rhythm on the larger ones. I feel mg spam is really easy for the soviets since I need to use my grens and smaller forces to run around very large portions of the map to capture points. If a Maxim catches a gren squad well then that sets me back quite a bit... And even if the Maxim is flanked with a different gren squad early game it still has tons of time to just displace. hmm.. Ideas? |
I really dislike the new maps. I feel they were just hastily created without any real stratgic thought. Moscow is bleeeeehhhh. New pryipat and kholdony arent so bad... but I agree they need some dedicated 1v1 maps. |
My pc blows and I have never had a problem with blizzards (1v1 only)... And while I feel the blizzard has fallen short of its intended goal, it does add some strategic value. Sometimes I thank blizzards when they appear, other times I curse it. It usually always leads to a lull in the fighting givng an opportunity to consolidate. If I have a good idea where my opponent is waiting out the blizzard sometimes ill launch little suprise raids and attacks using the new hurdle mechanic and flanking. If I lose.. well the blizzard covers my retreat and usually opponents still wont attack since they were attacked and hurt. If they do.. hopefully my defense I set up as reserve will scare off any real attack (and usually does). If that doesnt work my counterattack will!! So blizzards arent so bad, a lot less gimmicky then I first thought. |
Dont have a problem with most of this. Besides shreks being so expensive and the fact that I have never been able to effectively destroy a soviet tank with it.. I agree with that part.
What I do care about is the usefulness of the PAK and the KV-8. Did they buff the pak and nerf the kv-8 because both were ridiculous... one weak the other comically strong. |
LOL he mentined the "interrogation" ability. Thats a knee slapper.. But honestly I dont have as much trouble with sov infantry as some describe. My grens have no trouble gaining map control early vs soviet cons. Its all about positioning. I do have a problem with shock troops with ppsh utterly decimating pzgrens. At the same cost non the less.
And to the guy who says germans have the armor advantage... l....o...l... are you doing some of the balancing?? |
I agree that the maxim needs some sort of balance. The mg 42 gets supressed and beaten even in the case you described and any early flanking/possible counter fails. If I managed to get a squad around the maxim and rifle nade it and shoot it at point blank range its 6 man squad will easily laugh It off. Only mid early pzgrnes are good flanking alternatives but by then russians will have decent map control and a t70 could be fielded. If he wants he can supplement with a clown car early to really shut you down. This however, can be beaten on the smaller maps since its obvious if a soviet player is going mgs and mortars on you. On the new larger maps soviets caN LOLMAXIM the entire map without a german player being able to respond effectively. These new larger maps are really terrible in my opinion, especially in 1v1. |
