I put up a lengthier post about this in another thread.
TL;DR 2cm serves a niche purpose, MG34 default weapon is the way to go.

Im currently going straight to HT. Invariably I need its flame to dislodge garrisons in buildings, for which the rifle nade is inadequate and Pios are a xombat inneffectice unit to drop the muni on for flamers. Frankly I never really use Pioneers in combat. Often they will have 0/0 damage at the end of a game. As for HT Flamer, I somehow get by with Scout Cars instead. Maybe it's luck, or maybe I'm starting to learn more about Rifle Grenade placement, but I'm getting more and more squad wipes with them lately. Both in, and out of garrisons. In: COH2 Balance |

Reading Tommy's post makes me happy on my decision to still play VCOH. I haven't played COH2 since the closed beta but I had lost all interest as a result of it. I just can't understand why the moved so far away from a winning platform. What, like Call of Duty? World of Warcraft? Starcraft? Do you -seriously- want Relic to pump out a baby VCoH once a year instead of taking a risk and trying out things that are completely and utterly new? I applaud Relic for taking this risk, there are many things from a business perspective that they could/should/may have done in lieu of becoming a part of SEGA, and very few would fault them for pushing the release date of CoH2 down the line till 3rd/4th Q 2013. I live in a country of 5 million. You get used to it. Minority does not mean incorrect, in the wrong, nor does it make my point(s) any less qualified or correct. I'll take it as a positive that the only thing you could comment about my post, was the fact that I am in the "very small" minority. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Those "binoculars" looks like a delicious bottle of Schnapps, note his expression! Totally not an officer. Besides that's a squad of pioneers, not a mortar o.0 In: Lobby |

Another thing I've not seen yet (or maybe just failed to notice) is that extended T1 will become a lot more favorable with such low upkeep. In fact the normal T1 might change from 4 to 5 or 6 now, since there is no reason not to spam more infantry early on. After all, it'll hardly impact you later in the game when you're trying to build a lot of tanks. By T1 I assume you mean T0 which precedes the T1 upgrade (Rifle/Support command or Battle Phase upgrade, 40, 50 and 25 fuel respectively) You should note that Scout Cars and Halftracks have 2-3 pop each so infact one could argue that it is much more fortuitous to get to get that upgrade after the already common 4-squad start, and get field reinforcing instead of more squads - this adds better field-presence returns than simply having more squads. I have to interject on Riddler's behalf, just because your post is screaming some kind of denial. 1. One can only judge ideas, as far as one can comprehend them being expressed. The use of simplistic memes to raise an issue, memes that are over used (get the idea out of the room and kill it with fire - seen this one more times than I can count already, and only been on the forums for 2 hours) is something that draws question as to the depth of the argument. 2. Repeat this in English, I can't wrap my head around what you're trying to say. In: COH2 Gameplay |

Well - I'm glad I cancelled my pre-order in the close Beta to be honest. That depends entirely on the faction you play in CoH2 and what you do with it. The commanders at the moment "Add" to your army, they do not "Form" your army make-up as Doctrines in CoH1 did. As Soviets you do not build a Rifle Command, Support Command, Mechanized Support Command and Tankoviy Batallion. You pick 2, and you stick to them. You might go for SU-85s and couple them with T-34/85s, that's 1 way to play the faction. You might get ISU-152 and instead couple that with T-70s and T-34/76s, that's another way. Perhaps you will get IS-2 and KV-8 and rely on ZiS Field Guns for Anti Infantry Barrage to counter Paks and Medium Tanks. All of these builds also inherently have a different mix of Cons and Engies. ISU-152 build requires less engies, as cons can repair. IS-2 requires less Cons because Shock Troops are readily available. T-34/85 requires less negies again because all vehicles get a 30 muni self-repair, allowing you to focus more on MGs and Mortar support, relying on the T-34s to be your brunt. Seriously you seem completely lost to me, I don't know if you're bitching out of principle or because you actually have a gripe, but it seems painfully obvious that CoH1 is the game you should be playing and posting about, not CoH2 if you cancelled it in Closed Beta. I guess I'm in the minority when I say that I absolutely love blizzards and the chaos they cause. I never liked vCoh, I never liked CoH1 in any way shape or form. I have 30 hours or so on record and none of it was fun. I have over 250 hours on this game to date, and frankly if all these fixes you mention are going to be applied I might just quit. I didn't get this game to play CoH 1 with new units, I bought this game because of the squad-based action alongside with environmental hazards. When a Blizzard shows up, I line up my artillery ready to fire at confirmed Fire Pit locations, I send out my Pioneers/CEs to lay mines and boobytrap locations. I call-in the units I've been saving for, safe in the knowledge that the enemy will not have LoS to see it coming. This, for me, adds a magnitude of depth and -entertainment- to casted games. Why isn't coh 1 an esports title, why does it not qualify as being entertaining to watch in states like S. Korea where gaming is a sport in its own right? I can guarantee you that it has less to do with these "issues" you are citing, and more to do with entertainment value. CoH1 is actually fun to watch, but after the 500th game you just go "Yeah. Seen it all." 10 M10s in a 3v3 charging at Panthers like tards is funny the first 50 times, then it gets stale. But losing an IS-2 to a PGren grenade because the Soviet didn't see it coming? Oh man, the tragedy. In: COH2 Gameplay |
