This was an interesting match, though I feel it also shows the inherent strengths of Mechanized Company and the weaknesses of Fortification Doctrine.
Many plays were tried, many attempts were made. Ultimately, it was flanking and resource control that had one side rue the day. |
This game has me crying, raging, being angry.
And then the game never really wanted to end.
1 minute in, I was confident.
2 minutes in, I'd had expensive losses, but was still quite content.
5 minutes in, my mood soured.
15 minutes in, things were going wrong.
30 minutes in..
45 minutes in..
60 minutes in..
71 minutes in, my mood went from "THIS GAME IS TERRIBLE" to "I WON, THEREFORE THIS GAME WAS AMAZING."
Still I have to admit, even had I lost, had the losses on both sides been of this degree and so much damage been done, the match would of constituted a good watch. I even remark about this in the match itself, saying that the game would be worth a cast without my own QQing. What can I say? I was having a poor night of it, but here's hoping someone might find enjoyment in this gargantuan slugging match of T1-T3 SU vs. Volk-MG34 that lasts 71 minutes, and for 60 minutes of that could have gone either way.
Granted, with the fog of war, I never really knew exactly how well, or how poorly I was doing. That's part of the fun.

Kudos the Red for trying new builds and tactics that you don't see anyone else attempting, it's always an interesting match against him.
