They should move Volks to the Mechanized Regiment HQ, need Sturmpios but buff price, and make Kubel suppression cost Munitions. Also give Puppchen better anti infantry, and vet 0 stealth.
These new Volks should have 6 men, dps adjusted to match before but with price increase to 270.
Sorry to once again disagree with you, but that does not sound well thought out at all. Also, people may feel obliged to go MedTruck then; that suggestion in particular, is IMO pretty terrible. Also, why would kinda elite-seeming Sturmpos be in the HQ while the crappy seeming Volks would then require T1. So illogical... |
OKW is weird, man.
Balance wise I have no problem with 6 man Panzerfusies. It's just weird to see 6 man elite infantry for late-war Germany.
It makes them stand out. Adds to the units unique design. They already look alike Volks. This way, they are the only 6 man squad of OKW. It also adds flavor to the doctrine that way, if you will.
Besides, being locked in only 1 out of 6 doctrines in itself makes them more seldom - thus, we do history justice. I see no need to change their squad number. |
I'd like:
- either non-doctrinal MG34 (and Kubel in Docs then)
- or: a Kubel that acts more like a MG. Maybe with real set up/tear up time like the Flak Halftrack. And it will be recrewed more often to simulate abandoned HMGs. |
+1 OP using Blitz to escape is really stupid. And immersion breaking, in a way. The ''mighty Wehrmacht'' with their incredibly fast reverse gears, WTH? |
I guess RE don't use the 'black' voice because there is no black facial variants. For WFA, they didn't make any new facial variants, and making new ones for only one unit is not a good allocation of ressources. And otherwise, it would've been weird to have white REs with 'black' voices.
As for the faulty accents: I actually prefer the slightly overdrawn portrayal of nations. That's why I find Ostheer's voice acting rather boring compared to OKW. Sure, Ostheer seems to have more native speakers, but OKW delivers the whole grumpy, disciplined german cliché so much better... and this is not meant in an offensive way. It's much cooler. IMO this kind of voice-acting really appeals to national identities. Wether or not you like it, the most powerful parts of a nation's identity come from how it is perceived from the outside, and not from how they'd like to see themselves.
For that reason, I also only have limited understanding for complaints about the russian voice-acting.
TL;DR: The Ostheer voice acting may be closer to the reality of what german soldiers may have been like but the overdrawn OKW (and Soviet) voice acting is a lot more powerful because it delivers clichés that can become a more potent basis of (national) identity.
@OP: Upload moar!! |
[...] More people play axis because its OP. [...]
Careful there. Not everyone wants to play the easiest faction. There's a wide range of motives. Some play a faction for national reasons. Some for playstyle. And yes, some just want to win. So it factors in, but it's not the sole reason! ...
Also, according to this fancy stats site, OKW wins more in team games. In 1v1 they are the faction that has the lowest number of wins, though. They are also the least played faction in 1v1. So maybe Relic should ask themselve how they can make OKW better in 1v1, but worse in team games? |
I have been saying this for half a year. Remove the damn shreks from volks
What should they have instead in order not to be very, very useless? Panzerfaust maybe. Like in CoH 1. It was a widely-spread thing for late war germans if I am not mistaken. Not sure if a good idea, though... they may not even have voice-lines to fire a Panzerfaust. But they have Grenade voice-lines so maybe AT Grenades like Fusiliers?...
That aside, I disagree with the person who said they should cost more MP. They represent non-elite Grens, they can't cost more then Grens. It's not the design intent that Volks are elite and expensive. They are relatively cheap frontline dudes, and it should stay that way! |
No thanks. They aren't Panzerelite. Hummel etc. is not what the OKW's theme is there for. It would bug me.
OKW are the crazy high-tech late-war dudes with infrared stuff, Panzerschrecks on wheels(aka Raketenwerfer), experimental Sturmtigers etc. They have a clear and defined theme and the 'traditional' Hummel doesn't belong there IMO.
Panzerlelite was more of a ''let's put in everything we didn't do yet'' approach, they didn't even have MGs or anything (not even doctrinal).
That being said, I wouldn't have anything against a medium tank. Maybe a Panzer IV with skirts by default? Don't ask me how I got that idea... hehe |
I think relic should place the MG34 in the medic truck instead of as a doctrinal unit. Just to give OKW players another option other than going flak HT. And some suppression(not fuel costing) will help out a bit.
[...]
My major problem with OKW is lack of medium armor.
This is a design problem that has bugged me from the start. Things that, from a logical perspective, just shouldn't be locked in a doctrine. Same as Soviet PPsH shouldn't be locked in a doctrine.
Things that are in a doctrine should either be...
- sth that has an 'elite' vibe to it (Heavies, very elite infantry)
- sth that was rather seldom which has a unique and recognizeable character (Osttruppen come to mind)
Conclusion: I wish OKW had MG34 and also that callin Pz4 with armored skirts without a doctrine, and Soviets had PPsH and a T34/85 upgrade without doctrines. The stuff that feels like 'basic army' shouldn't be locked in a doctrine, that just feels illogical... and you don't need to be a history buff to notcie that.
[That aside, I really like all the units they put in. I just dislike where they put some of them :/] |
Giving Sturmpios the Panzerschreck upgrade is not a good idea from a design perspecitive, IMO. Reason: The voice lines. The Sturmpionier voice lines that you hear when carry a Panzerschreck are messy. They use the wrong, old voice-actor (which also can be heard when they place barbed wire). So, by giving them the Upgrade, the probability of hearing these inconsistent, less polished voice-lines will rise considerably.
Volksgrenadiers, on the other hand, have proper Panzerschreck voice-lines, making the game seem a lot more clean and polished.
So no, for consistency's sake, I hope Relic will not listen to such feedback. |
