If I want Mg42, I will get HM (Heavy Machine Gun Team) instead. I will keep munition for somethingelse.
Actually, I get HM a lot in the early game, grenadiers are just for supporting with grenade but not my core army. I upgrade them with Jagger in order that they can help firing enemies who were suppressed by my HM. Jagger is good gun in my opinion, It hits very precisely even at long range.
My Strat is
1 pioneer + Build the 1st building -> HM -> HM -> upgrade to tier 2 -> HM -> build 2nd building -> HT+Flame -> 2x greandier upgraded with jagger + upgraded flame thrower for one of my pioneers -> upgrade to tier 3 -> get 3x Stug out
If the battle takes longer than that, I will upgrade to tier 4 and get 2x Brummbar.
I dont see how you dont get demolished by Clowncar flamer or Sniper in early game??!?? Any decent Soviet would mess this MG heavy strat up I think. |

Im seeing this a bit all over the place. Some get Flamer Pios some place mines...
The way I go about it is....keep munis for Faust early against the Clowncar...and get MG42s on my Grens to win early game engagements vs Soviet Infantry.
I know some think the MG42s cost too much ...but I feel they give me good early game advantage in infantry fighting.
I maybe wrong.

Right...I have been having success vs most Russian Strats up to now, until this shit started.
Basically Soviets will go for a Sniper opening (no conscripts first), then clown cars, and a second sniper....sometimes even up to 3.
Good players will then get some conscripts with AT nades and finally Guards Riflemen...and just use the sniper clown car to kite Germans squads or vehicles into the conscripts/Guards.
I cant get fausts off, and when I do I end up losing almost entire Gren squad. I try to go for scout cars but they just die so fast to ATnades and Guards.
Anybody else face this? Any advice? This is a pain for me right now. |
I actually love this doctrine and it is the one I manly use!
I will build a good 3 Grens in early game and spend early munis on LMG42s ASAP...then later get also G43s on these same Grens. With Vet 2 or 3 they are completly OP!
I only use Camo on MGs and Pgrens...Pgrens are great for Ambushes a bit like the Stormtroopers in COH1.On MGS in winter maps it is insane .....MGs in deep snow will get a damage bonus on initial bursts and are great in defending held territory.
Finally I spend all remaining munis on Tact movement. It is a great ability...and can make it seem like you have way more troops then you do when you are moving Grens and PGrans from one point to another.
Agreed in early to mid game you will almost always be very low on munis....but if your game last longer....past say 25mins....youll be able to use the Artillery barrage which is IMO one of the best currently. It hits a bit like the defensive barrage in COH1....one initial shell then a bunch more around the same spot...shredding any enemy Inf under it.
I think its more of a support Doctrine....its not a Doctrine where you wait for the game changing unlock to give you the Win...like an Is2 or A Tiger etc...It will strengthen your infantry troops. You still need to get some decent armor to secure win IMO. |
As of right now...Soviets are completly overpowered.
Since lates patch, It feels like they can do pretty much anything and come out with a win.
Oshteer have almost NO flexibility.
Our Tier 1 is half useless....Mortars suck..Snipers are of no use.
Only Grens and MGs....and that gets beaten by anything Tier 0 or Tier 1 from soviets.
Map control is then lost....and from that point ANY tech path from soviets is valid...whereas ....Germans MUST go tier 2 and Scout car or ATgun to defend vs Clown car and T34s.
Soviets have more mobility and are cheaper..>AND right now theyre units are stronger...I mean WTF do conscripts get Molotovs at 25 munis a piece.....and Grens get Faust???? WTF am I gonna do with a faust in Tier 1 battle....cant Grens carry potato mashers??? I mean cmon!

I have never faced more than one T34 at the time my first Stug comes out. Its just too early. At least this is what Ive experienced.
Try it out!
with such great MP spend, you will have a Stug on the field vs like 2 T-34's
But before, you will get probably rofl stomped by flamer HT's, shock troopers or just conscript spam |
