i have notepad++ and so i can go into my files an manually change the game settings for almost everything in the game (shrub detail, terrain, models, shadows, etc.). Why is this not in the in-game options? Image quality is not even properly explained as a one setting set for terrain, shadows, post processing, reflections, lighting, etc. Texture only applies to itself as does snow and physics.
There is not even an option to lower effects which i have done (through notepad++) to help my framerate. I also use steam commands to force the game into dx9 so that my system doesn't lag as much (I can technically run everything on high but i prefer no frame skips whatsoever in big battles).
This is a PC game, it should have these options for players. |

Thats the kind of change Im talking about when I say I dont want to see units/options nerfed into oblivion and hence have a less dynamic game with less options. I play both Germans and Soviets so dont accuse me of being a 1 faction fan boy please but I really see nothing wrong with the sniper car its annoying thats all, and very easy to take out with a scout car and now after this patch if that happens there is a good chance the sniper will die. This game needs things like being able to put different units in cars for variety and fun. Think about it, take those Russian options away and what is fun about the Russians after that?
P.S. I just played a game 20 minutes ago where a savvy German player sniped my sniper out of the scout car it was brilliant, he waited till I was taking fire from a gren squad then sniped and i lost one, I had no idea I had been sniped I though it was Gren fire and wouldnt happen agian then bam he sniped the second guy right out of the car so there is plenty of ways to deal with it, if you got the motivation to try
so germans should get snipers in HTs too then? i dislike snipers in clown cars because it effectively gives them a speed, armor, and lmg cover support that moves with them.
i see your point though, compromise? still can put snipers in, but they only have normal accuracy if HT is stationary and have ~50% accuracy while moving |
I LOVE THE 4-man german teams. please do not start bashing this particular part of the patch when numerous players have been begging for the german teams to survive longer

Its fairly easy to chase off with the Flamer HT.... I've lost easily to that Flamer when everyone said Maxims were so good...didn't really help me because I'm just better with scout car and scripts. I like to move around see whats going on...in 2on2 that's different, but 1on1 mg spam is kinda slow and boring.I have seen some good guys use it well.... and yea it looked very tough to beat but not every player can use that kind of skill to win vs Germans every game.
yes the flame HT can kill it, but thats 160 MP, 120 Ammo, and 20/40 fuel to beat a 240 manpower unit....WTF (the HT costs may be off, cant remember the mp and fuel cost) |
since i saw some stuff about the m5 halftrack and how it's rarely used. i'd like to point out that it can put two squads in it, reinforce, and be upgraded to a quad which has almost equal stats to a maxium (damage, suppression)...mobile armored maxium with guards and sniper inside. not cool, right?
halftrack makes sure you have real armor on the field or it's gg. and even then i've seen players use it as bate german armor into kill zones.
i'm much more concerned about the ammo costs being COMPLETELY ONE-SIDED and weapon crew sizes |

Ad4 U know why ? becouse german inf is stronger then russian - ofc all of u will now start trash talk soviets op blablabla -its not truth - greens can kill early russian trucks - as a russian u need those doctrinal inf - as a german u may deal with early russian tanks with PG > and they counte those doctrinal russian inf - as a russian u need a tank or at ofc but at is bad against inf > get the point.
And after all there is that jagger inf doctrine which ppl think is bad - but its not - ofc if u r not a spamer of your upg.

i'm not saying soviets are OP OMG NERF! i'm saying there germans are underpowered and need tweaks so that they are equally effective. the only two things i want nerfed are weapon team sizes for russians and (after some more games and thought) t-70 damage.
my reasoning for the t-70 nerf is that it is shooting at 3-4 man squads, well right now almost every volley will kill a model. so 4 volleys = dead squad. pak useless for counter, shrecks cost 120 ammo which i dont have, and AC upgunned will only work if the t-70 is by itself and you have grens supporting ur AC with faust (70 ammo for upgrade, 35 for faust = 105 ammo for one unit, maybe two if you have m3 battles earlier) |

I like the T70 how it is now, like the m8 in vcoh you can use it very effectively to punish people who don't get enough AT or stay too long on T1, and I like it like that.
i agree that punishing people who dont tech up is part of the game, but the t-70 leaves no german weapon team alive right now. it more requires you to have t3 vehicles out or munitions for an upgraded scout car (which isnt a t-70 killer per say but can stall the onslaught).
edit: although with the armor buffs on pak, might not need to nerf the t-70. |
ummm disagree?
had a stolen p4, 2 t-34's, and 2 zis all hitting one tiger (just sitting there, he wasnt microing it at all). frontal and side and even some rear shots as he moved it back.
took about 4 minutes to die and would have killed everything if i hadn't rammed it about 2.5 minutes in. still killed both zis and then first shot on a t-34 took it to 60% health...ramming time.
so yeah tiger is badass but i agree that the cost of heavy tanks is off right now. |
