What the hell does a need proof? Data from game statistics that I like it all? This is FUN ... FUN. I play the game and not the statistics. I am acting aggressively and am not afraid that my tank will be abandoned. Could this affect the game? Of course. Am I going to cry about it after playing on the forum? Not.
Too bad. What you consider "fun" isnt relevant for a balance discussion, which is what this is. You consider bad mechanics and bad game design fun, that's your problem, nobody else's.
You whine consistently as soon as anyone starts discussing these mechanics being bad for the game.
My controversy is simple - I don't care what you don't like. I like how planes fall into a crowd of people (no matter the enemy or mine) or how it falls on the ice and sinks a tank (no matter the enemy or mine), I like how the tanks are abandon and the event starts around the capture or destruction of this tank. This is a game for me, there are no questions of justice or injustice. For me, this is a question of getting fun and adrenaline. And everything described above gives me this.
Nobody cares what YOU like either. You're not providing any arguments, you're just inventing strawman scenarios about how removing terrible mechanics like Abandon and MGC somehow make the game more "Sterile", whereas the people arguing against Mario Party Mechanics like those two are giving actual reasons as to why they're shit parts of the game that should be removed.
Just because you like the game's bad parts doesn't mean they aren't bad. Whiteflash, Azxc, and kater123 have provided actual arguments. Either provide some yourself, or stop whining (And projecting that anyone else is "whining")
Vcoh1 is a terribly unbalanced mess of a game. It's a superior single player experience to 2 (Arguable if you look at Ardennes Assault (When it isnt bugged)) But CoH2 is a far superior game in terms of playability and balance on the multiplayer front.
"Vcoh2" isnt relevant, as that is a day long past. The current balance of the game, and the current balance of CoH1 is what should be looked at.
IMO grenadier being weaker than riflemen isn't a vacuum unit vs unit balance issue but a factional design issue that no damage table could solve.
The problem with 5men grenadiers design is at faction level, it is because you suddenly got a mainline infantry as strong/stronger than other mainline infantry with all the remaining beneficial design around it: better support weapon, better field presence, better medium tank and access to stock premium tanks.
I personally always felt that implementing 5men gren is an error because you can't buff grenadiers without nerfing half of the rest of Ostheer roster to balance the faction or you end up with a grenadier squad that's not really buffed like you imagine it deserves it to compete with other mainline infantryies.
It's not so much an issue so long as the 5man upgrade doesnt come with a weapon as strong as the G43, a cooldown reduction, or an RA reduction.
5man grens were an issue because they did too much, if they're not overtuned (And don't overshadow other gren upgrades) I don't think it's too much of an issue.
While you are not wrong, the issue is that soviet don't really have any other answer to elefants and JTs. Heavy tanks can be gunned down by SU85s but the case mates are a lil tougher to go nose to nose. Without some reliable tool to flank they are helpless against them
True, but similarly to the overperformance of the T-70; Soviet need to have changed made to them to allow them to deal with these things without resorting to gimmicky crutches.
Well, that bombing run takes a lot of ammunition. That tank takes gas/manpower. You burn all those resources, you should be able to blow up 1 tank. Not to mention, you still have to execute it. I tried it, never could pull it off, but I'm not that good with micro. I only play 4v4, so maybe its a much bigger problem in 1v1. But thanks for the link to the changes.
It's an extremely easy combo to pull off, and the munitions cost is more than worth it to delete an Elefant, Tiger, or Konigstiger. It's absolutely a cause for concern.
