To be fair, i believe changing vls from a g43 to a stg is on a good direction at least, it make the upgrade more unique compare to G43 upgrade and also moving away from tapping models, which it should be, like with the section change. And sander already said that further adjustments will be done if needed, namely tweak for the stg's profile.
Maybe let the upgrade replace rifle nade with a hand thrown nade like pfusi ?
I actually like the idea of giving the vsl an stg instead of a g43. This change is nice to me. Maybe replacing the grenade is a good idea, or some kind of other stat change I am not sure. But so far I like the changes to the vsl grens and I hope they remain viable |
Why was the intro when the game starts up removed? I think it was a pretty good intro, and the game was originally on the Eastern Front only, and portraying a battle on that front as an intro doesn't seem bad just because WFA was introduced doesn't mean the intro should be removed. IMO the intro was a master piece and should remain in the game |
Is it possible to do changes to the performance of the AI?
In my opinion
-Soviet AI on expert is too strong due to their resource bonus. The way they play (at least for someone of my skill) they are almost impossible to beat. I think they could use some tuning
-USF AI seems very good and well balanced and I'm not sure if I am going to win or not. (although they could do a better job keeping their rear echellons alive)
-British AI needs BIG BUFF I want to fall asleep playing against them, even on expert. They play so poorly it's not a challenge at all. The only thing they are good at doing is throwing grenades. Terrible at everything else
-Ostheer AI seems solid although sometimes they place bunkers at odd times
-OKW AI not sure, Ostheer AI seems to perform slightly better when it comes to unit preservation
none of the AI use mines like they did in CoH1, however, it feels like against expert ai, unlike in pvp, building light vehicles is actually a waste because the AI receives a fuel bonus and you want to save for tanks as quickly as possible, and you will fall behind if you spend fuel on light vehicles.

edit* I've actually been able to sometimes beat soviet on expert as of late (maybe it's the adderall)
But anyway, I'm sure many of you can agree the AI could use some adjustments and they have not been touched in years. Soviets never upgrade to 7 man cons, ostheer never uses veteran squad leader, USF never uses rife grenades on rear echelons, British just... spams medics sometimes, or starts building a defensive building right infront of you and lets you destroy their builders and the defensive building effortlessly. |
I just think the stg is a cool change. Seems more fitting for the vsl
Not saying the idea of firing in bursts at long range is a bad idea for stgs or antyhing like that. |
I actually really like the change of g43 to stg44 for the veteran grenadier squad leader. I think it is a nice change. |
Balance patch isn't out yet.
How did you get this Stormtrooper bug to happen exactly? Just upgrading like normal, but they didn't get MP40s?

And yes the upgrade goes into effect but the stormtroopers do not receive MP40s even though it says they do. |
It seemed like stormtroopers couldn't upgrade to their mp40s in the prepatch beta. It showed the icon that they upgraded, and it gives them their focus fire ability, but they continue to have bolt action rifles instead of MP40s. Maybe this was fix by now, not sure. Also is this balance patch live yet? I heard the 64 bit version is now live but my game hasn't done a single update so I am reinstalling it |
