Mg42 is by far the shittiest mg, espescially without vet, garbo aim time, inconsistent firing patterns. Hell it comes with an inbuilt delay when its post set up or when it targets infantry, about a second or two of aiming at something if it isn't dead center.
haha funny |
well to me, the maxim is lackluster. My main issue with it is
the damned deathloop, i don't think all other things are fine but i hate it's death loop more than anything else tbh. would i like more suppression, well yeah, enough times i see volks charge from beymond max range straight on and only gets suppressed once they are in point blank but still it's is what it is. It's the worst but not shit. |
I think the most important thing is to focus on just 1-2 things at a time and practise them until they become routine, before moving on to the next thing. Trying to improve everything at once is just overwhelming.
So for example focus on always A-moving your (support) units, until you start doing that automatically. Then move on to the next thing. The key is to expand your routine so ultimately you start doing all these (small) efficient things faster and without having to think about them.
Some stuff that is relatively easy to nail down:
- A-move ATGs when advancing so they will automatically set up when a vehicle is within their range;
- Use shift-reverse or shift-move orders for rocket artillery or mobile howitzers so they will automatically move back to safety after delivering their barrage;
- For repairing tanks, always use a move order behind the vehicle with a shift-queue order for repairs. This way your engineers will always end up repairing the vehicle from behind which prevents them from getting hit collaterally by incoming fire aimed at the vehicle;
- Focus on using the abilities on your units that aren't as obvious but can be quite powerful, like the booby traps on Obersoldaten;
- Use shift-orders to lay down multiple mines at once and always use a shift-move order after a mine laying order so your engineer squad moves away from the mine after completing it. This both moves them out of harm's way and makes sure the enemy doesn't spot your mine (the tight square squad formation after laying a mine gives away what the engineers have just been up to)
Thanks for the advise, i really appreciate it. I never knew about the engineer repairing from behind thing i'll start doing that. |
So, I wanna get better at the game, i wanna go from being a noob to a competent player how do i go on doing that. what are some of the best ways to improve certain skills(e.g. map wide awareness, controlling multiple units at different parts of the map) and how to practice. I hope that the more experienced player in the community give me advise and maybe also share what worked for them.
And if this is the wrong place to post then direct me to the right place. |
What are these supposed weaknesses?
MANPOWER SHORTAGE, a huge headache for any SOV main. |
Then what the hell 2v2 and beyond is then???? If you find 1v1 unrewarding maybe this is not the game for you. Or just don't play 1v1. |
Ah yes. A rank 4000 guy who didn't play axis in ages ( and never had a match as OKW ) tells others to git gut.
I don't know what your Rank is, but I have no doubt your more of a scrub noob who doesn't understand the game than I am. |
Are you srsly saying that the Best rocket arty in the game SUCK!!!!
GIT GUD DUDE!!!!
I will admitted IT HAS THE HIGHEST SKILL CEILING, So too NOOBS it's totaly useless but to experienced players and pro it is better than any else. |
I'm not saying a abandoned KT is equal to a dropped PTRS
What I am saying is for the average game, dropped brens/MG42s/shreks are way way more common and effect the game more than the odd chance of a tank abandoning in a secluded area where it can be repaired
Obviously not all weapon drops and vehicles are worth the same, a Obers MG dropped is worth it's weight in gold compared to a abandoned kubel in easy to destroy location. Just today I saw a tightrope game where he had something like 3 stolen Vickers K on his vet Jaegers... That's equal to a vehicle in power to me.
But my point is it's RNG effecting the game
if an enemy get's a weapon from your squad it's never insta GG for you, but if an enemy get your vehicle that can and is in most case instant GG for you. |
So for a recent tournament vehicle abandons were banned as in organizer eyes "it makes the game more E sport ready".
I can understand this, but why keep LMG or shrek drops in the game if you're going to do that? Surely a para squad picking up an LMG34 will greater influence the game than say a 222 abandoning in the middle of ATG range.
Same thing when Jaeger's pick up a few brens or penals an LMG42. Basically you're getting an elite tier squad without the risk of repairing and crewing a vehicle that vehicle abandons have with them.
Personally I don't see the issue with vehicle abandons, it's a game mechanic.
It's like this, say you risked a lot of resources to chase and kill an important enemy vehicle but instead of getting the kill it gets abandoned and your now in no position to finish it off. That kind of a middle finger to all effort you put in/ the risk that you took. Risk v Reward is a thing but when neither is in your control(to a certain degree that is) then it's a stupid mechanic. Weapon drops aren't really all that punishing. |
