Thread: HE shells for other tanks also8 Aug 2019, 10:12 AM I think it would be a good idea to have a choice between AP shells and HE shells for some tanks on other factions also. Like AT dedicated tanks should have also the ability to have HE shells which provides good infantry support but at the cost of it taking 5 seconds, similar to what Shermans have. Tanks such as STG, SU85, Jackson, Firefly etc. Maybe even for other mediums also. Or even possibly for all tanks since it would increase diversity and gameplay. Not only that but also to create a window of opportunity to take someones tank by surprise when the enemy is equipped with HE shells. Thus making it a more sophisticated gameplay. Tough for Heavier tanks, it is safe to say that increasing their time to reload the HE shell by an extra 2 seconds would be interesting. Creates a bigger gap of opportunity of being vulnerable and gives in contrast more significant impact in AI engagements! So, what do you guys think? In: COH2 Gameplay

SP are very high pop and cost for engineer unit and one could redesign them with lower Pop and DPS. That is exactly my point. I think if I am not mistaken. Combat Engineers costs 280 manpower which gives them a huge distinctive advantage. Also, with what else it provides making it an even better combat engineer in contrast to Sturmpio. Their utility is more useful. Even the Brits Engineer is useful. Its close range DPS is more effective than what Sturmpio can provide as well as when they can get 5 guys. Thus Brits engineers are far more effective as well as what they can provide overall. Brits Engineers costs 240-250 manpower btw. Multiple upgrades meaning more choices and huge areas that it can cover for immense viability for both AT and AI. Even the WEHR and SU engineers have good utility. Flamethrower which provides far more effective AI than what Sturmpio has to offer in contrast. Also due to the fact that it is effective against blobs and in urban areas. Sturmpio is nor consistent nor accurate to consider it a decent fighting unit. You always have to get very close. Medium range feels rather meager. Sturmpio would be considered good if only the Pzshrek had something to properly offer which it currrently does not. Vet sucks also which makes it hardly a dependant infantry combatant unit. Sorry, you can't have most diverse vehicular AT AND very good infantry AT as well. Yeah, very smart. So no need for Maxim fix if there is a default problem since doctrines is all you need. You got a spare SU MG (that doctrine MG), so no fix. Katitof thinking. Very smart. You cant fix a problem by just using doctrines. It is dumb mechanic. Either you decrease Maxim crew to 4 man and make it perform similarly to USF mg. Or If you still want 6 man, keep it the way it is. Because all I hear is people wanting only buffs or only nerfs when that is clearly not a step towards game improvements. All so one-sided. I clearly stated the other options available are just not viable. If it were the best. Why is the AT not being used or even barbed wire. The only thing it can properly do is mines and repairs. Combat is only effective early but useless later on as it drops fast due to the fact its vet, does not scale well. That is the point. What other roles can it properly partake other than repairs and laying mines? They are not the best if they are simply slightly better in repairs only. In: COH2 Gameplay

What's more, both axis mgs can double their damage and increase their pen with vet making them ideal attopping infantry, dueling machine guns and mulching light vehicles. The maxim gets "reload and then pretend you are a proper machine gun" The maxim is the worst MG bar none at doing what mgs are designed to do. The fact that it can accomplish other tasks despite failing at its dedicated task is more proof of its need to change not reinforcement of its current state. I did not say who cares about supression, bla, bla ,bla. I said that buffing surpression for Maxim is possible if it were made 4 or maybe even 5 man instead. Having all the utility for 6 man support weapon makes it all broken. It is broken already for SU to steal an MG42 or even any other MG as it makes it impossible to retrieve it back. Doing that for Maxim is just stupid. I would say, nerf SU 6 man team weapons to 4 or 5 man. Than increase all their effectivness. A fair trade right? That is what I said. That is a better resolution. Trading areas from survivability to better performance. So dumb to even give more buffs to a 6 man team weapon. So, is just not only just caring for the MGs role but for the gameplay and balancing in the process. I never ignored the fact that Maxim is the worst MG in game. Never said it was fine. I was pointing out areas that should not be ignored especially about MG34! Do not change my words. It is simply not cool. In: COH2 Balance

Rear echelons have tank traps which are far more effective since it also provides cover and is way faster to build. Blocks every unit available in game! Even normal barbed wire is far better than that since it is faster and covers better ground. Mines for OKW are ineffective since ammo is better used for other things. If I talk about SU, their mines are effectivne due to the fact they have enough means to use it. OKW on the contrary has no particular means to place as much mines due to their heavy ammo requirements. Combat effectivness is meager. Other engineers does better overall later on, especially when they can acquire far better equipment. AT Pzshrek 70 ammo is the shittiest package available. Other factions have availability to AT equipment far better than OKW has at all. Sturmpio sucks in AT, AI (combat overall) and building defensive which it also sucks at. All it can do overall is repair. So much for having too much utility. They simply can not do much up to anything at all. On top not being able to vet nicely makes them all the more shit. Nothing good about this unit. I would pick any other engineer available any other day. There is really no point in getting this unit other than repairing. Nerf combat role of Sturmpio and buff in other areas. Make it a better suited engineer than a failed designed combat unit. It is useless currently in support and combat. Other engineers obviously does better in both areas since they have way better access to utility. It is too much useless utility Sturmpio has. In: COH2 Gameplay

All it can do later on and what is there to repair. Just lights for Mech only and Heavies. Sturmpio is not designed well since it's specific role is not identified to its historic match. Which was clearing trenches and it is an aggressive unit. Even then, what is the point of being able to repair slightly faster when their vehicles arent any better except their mediums. Lights are just piontless since their support is not there! It cant even be aggressive nor defensive. All it can do is fight close range. Medium range is simply terrible. Besides that. It is a pointless class. Getting other engineers from other factions serves more purpose as they have better utility to provide as a means of better support. Sturmpio has nothing proper to offer than just repair. They have actually all 2 choices, hell 3 even. But OKW Sturmpio is only 1 road only. Hell, even SU engineer and WEHR engineer serves way better Infantry support when they have Flamethrower. For 200 manpower and less. 60 ammo Hell, even UKF and USF engineer serves way better purpose for AT support when they have AT. For 200 manpower and less. 50 ammo + tech = lots more to offer overall Hell even all the other factions can get more engineers since they are cheaper and have far better accessibility to utility overall making them far better. What on earth is Sturmpio designed for for 300 manpower. Just as much as what a 220 manpower unit performs way better mid and late in other areas overall. Not repairs only but other factors. UKF engineer does better than what Sturmpio has to offer even in combat. Even repairs for the cost is better. Even if you include tech, it is definitely better overall. In AT, fortification, cover, snares and other things. Sturmpio has nothing to offer and for its price, it is simply shit in contrast. No utility or choice to offer except repairs only. All Sturmpio can only do is repair and fight up close. What is the point of having Sturmpio if it cant participate any other role other than that. It is simply not a choice. What happened to diversity, choices or dilemmas? 70 ammo for 1 Pzshrek. That is completely shit. Absolute shit. What the hell is it designed for. Lacklustre. There should be more reason to use it like most other engineers. Sturmpio is just a unit that has no particular purpose in game other than repairs. No choice of AT support or even infantry support. You buy them to suppress. The mg34 does that very well, the maxim is terrible at it. The 34 is better than the maxim You are looking at surpression and ignoring other factors. Yeah, Maxim is indeed the worst in suppression of all mgs but in everything else it is good. It is definitely better than MG34. Why and it is simple. Way better Damage, survivability, deploy time and its definitely manoeuvrable which makes it hell of a lot of more effective in terms of support. Timing is everything! You can not exactly run around it or counter it that easily if you encounter it right? Adding strong surpression to Maxim would kill the game because then, it can not even be countered. Maybe, what they can do instead is to add more accuracy for more damage focused instead. Would most certainly make Maxim more of a popular choice than it is now. Surely, adding surpression to Maxim would destroy the game. I would rather increase damage or some other areas to make it better. Giving it better Surpression is not a good idea at all. Should not give that cuz every other MG has that. Maybe something different since its is 6 guys otherwise make it 4 to give good suppression. Currently putting maxim in buildings and dueling with either MG34 or MG42. Maxim wins because of damage, survivability and long bursts. Does not necessarily make Maxim terrible if its bad in one thing only. Look at the other stuff. In: COH2 Balance
