I hope the CoH2 community can let this issue calm down for a hot second as both sides seem heated on the issue. Hope A_E and Hanz can work things out.
Why me, there's like 5 other people at least that had an issue! |
Quite frankly has anyone stopped to ask themselves if UTT itself was a quality product to watch?
I was bored watching the games, despite who was casting. I stopped watching in the middle and played another game. ...right around the time people caught wind of this drama brewing. That certainly made me move on faster.
But hey, fight amongst yourselves over rights to viewers.
Uhm it was an aweomse best of five I cast, had Luvnest and Momo nearly beaten 2-0 down then make a miracle comeback, and win the series 3-2..... felt pretty awesome at the time... |
So say some one else wanted to organize a coh2 tourney how does that work do they have to run it by you guys or can anyone from the community just come in and decide to organize a tourney?
Anyone - uhm this thread is just about having organised a tourney and sourced/ fronted a prizepool, the person(s) that do that have the broadcast rights. If you wanna organise a tourney coolio! |
And on the back of OCF...
Do, please!
As you are the OP, I suggest it is time to call a halt here? (Second time of asking). You should all have your conclusions by now?
I highly doubt if there is anything more to be suggested for better tourney organisation?
The only problem I see with this thread as it stands is you have mentioned unrelated things from 2 years ago, and stirred up Von Kluge vs. Bloodnok etc, is that not off topic???
If you close this thread it will simply manifest elsewhere on the site, just keep it open and move it somewhere you don't have to look at it or something.
edit: That said the actual discussion side of this debate has pretty much run its course, so if it really must be closed I'm sure no one would mind. It's a moderator decision. |
Don't be disingenuous, please. You rode in on the back of the success of OCF. If you had stayed loyal to the community, which you did not, then ESL would have run on our terms. You know? All the posters who paid, took a chance and supported OCF? And told Relic we were pissed off at being ignored?
But then some 'adventurers' crept in and snuck up to Relic. They 'leeched' the OCF aura. You are harping at Hans for taking a trick : it's just what you did to us. I didn't like it then, and I don't like what's happening now.
What is your next trick? To tar and feather Hans>?
Once you start to proselytize, as Ciez used to do, it's time to call a halt - or face your own demons.
I think this thread has run its course?
What on earth has OCF got to do with any of this, as far as I know Stormless wasn't even slightly involved in OCF. I personally cast one game... The ESL oppurtunity for Dan came from casting Kreatiir's tournaments and for me StrategicZoomCast at the time.
Also on the Relic thing, I will raise with you in staff, as in public is not the place to talk about it. |
Is this when Devlish broadcast Kreatir's event without asking and Kreatir quit the community and left the scene?
yeah that lovely guy casting to his friends and 40 viewers |
This aint LoL or CS:GO bro, you make your own exclusiveness.
Be glad that your tourneys get picked up by other people and make the effort to actually spread your tourney name. You should provide the hype & the extra for the people so they come to your channel. Invite the big streamers, make them mod, whatever. Make sure your Twitch channel > theirs at the time of the tourney.
And the whole 'organizing is a pain in the ass-thing', what a load of horse***.
You literally kicked up an even bigger stink than this, when this exact thing happened to your tournament. You must have amnesia. |
The annoying thing is with that is that all players can see this password (we've tested it), and as it's merely a bypass delay password it can then be used for cheating/ live coaching, and we can't track who leaked it.
Relic didnt think the system through and if you recall actually bailed on passwords midway through ESL.
The only time it will be useful will be at GCS2 live tourney Cus the players won't be able to communicate with the outside world.
Can people please read my point here, am I only one that understands how flawed the password system is. All players see the bypass delay password and could pass it on to friends. It is no solution. |
Easiest solution going forward. Require hosts of tournament game to setup an obs password so only authorized casters can jump in the game and if any streamer rebroadcasts someones direct channel just direct everyone to mass report their channel for violating TOS.
/lock thread

You do not own CoH2 or the rights for all the viewers. Which actually cant be proven you would have gotten more without someones stream. --- because TO's wanted all the CoH2 views.
I don't think anyone is even slightly suggesting that: you're trying to make out that TO's want all the CoH2 views, no they want all the views relating to their own tournament or authorised streams. Two very different things yet you seem to paint it as though they're saying all CoH2 views...
I think you need to write your post again because you seem to have misunderstood everything. |
