But have a far worse flame nade less healing options and no ai upgrade. Imo volks are not meant to be the same main line as what other factions get. They have much stronger elite obers stock after them. There is where okw should be buffed. Imo @pip made some good or even excelent point on how to this. In: COH2 Balance

AEC and Stuart arrives at the same time as ost LV and are significantly stronger. Yeah and you get the MG because of the god awefull shit tier infantry you get. You know despite having an MG do you know why Brits don't function like OST because that is a shit design but allies cant have shit design. ost lv are earlier still and the flametrack wreck infantry harder tgen either of those Are you high???? If you think that you are much worse then your opponents. F t34's you can get t34-85's/KV-1's by the time OST can hit P4's. you seem to be the high one, getting t34 85 or kv1 before an ost p4? It's only 15 fuel in fact most of the allies side tech(what you call investment) is super cheap. The reason why you have to spend fuel to get snares is because non of the allied faction need to build tech to get mainlines. OST/OKW can't get just spend 15 fuel and get LMG's/stgs or rifle nades/incendiary nades but USF and UKF can. Just because allied factions have the choice and ost/okw don't doesn't mean that ost and okw for infantry. And before you say you tech up also with those i'll say allied tech is less expensive. OST can't even reach the final tech level before every other faction can. Its hard to caculate the right amount of cost from an entiere tier to the unlocks of lmg or snare since not every unit in the tier is as strong/valuable as the other. A lot of people believe no tech of any kind should ne added because of this. To my knowlidge cons are the only unit to wich it only effects them, making it easier to do the math. And people need to stop with the cheap cons (wich they arent) beat more expensive voljs/grens and look at the bigger picture instead of those units in a vacuum. Its true allies and okw dont need to tech to build main lines. But allies dont have units as strong as pgrens obers stock to back them up nor mg's as early or powerfull depending on the faction. Ost has the earliest and strong lv fase as well punishing not teching at nades or zooks potentialy. Ost fields their medium before soviets get their first t34. So them reaching their final tech with even better units later is more a luxery problem then anything else. In: COH2 Balance

But there is tech in the soviet line up that only effects conscripts and nothing else. Making them the only unit you accurately calculate side tech cost into. No other unit has this like cons do. Then again maybe sections with their nades do but i could be wrong though. People say cons are cheap because the have low reinforce costs, but forget they dropp a lot more models making it balanced. They're stuck between being a "meatshield" and a "Damage-dealer" infantry unit, due to having been handed the STG upgrade at one point in balance, and being expected to be a (very temporary) shock infantry. Their veterancy is weak, which makes their survivability (and so their efficiency) fairly garbage lategame relative to other units, but their STGs do not scale well either, having a spike when they're upgraded, and steeply dropping down from there. I've suggested multiple times that Volks ought to lean far more heavily into the "tarpit" design, losing their STG upgrades (and therefore their powerspike) in exchange for slightly improved (defensive, primarily) veterancy, and a "mobilise reserves" styled upgrade. Obers/JLI/Fallschirmjager (and to a lesser extent, mostly in the early game; Sturms) are obviously the infantry that should be doing the damage for OKW, Volks shouldnt have their damage output buffed, certainly not in the lategame, but what they /should/ be is a more utilitarian meatshield, in the same design space as Conscripts. I agree with this. I suggested to give some more rec acc and have their self heal back to vet 3. With them loosing their stg their defensive stats need more increase then i suggested indeed. Volks have to be able to trade efficiently late game which they don't. Volks have to draw fire/tie down enemy inf as they where designed to do. Then let obers or whatever elite callin inf is out their deals the damage. Although the only thing that i would change on volks is their self heal to vet 3 and buff recc acc a bit at vet 5. Accualy beating/bleeding inf isent the job for volks late game. Its obers wich should be made viable for this. If we buff volks to section rifle level obers become irrelevant and faction play more simaler across the board. Wich imo isent good. In: COH2 Balance
