Usually on Across the Rhine right side. Across The Rheine beach side has OP MG42 positions. 2 MG42s can lock the whole area with double pios. Soviets usually need 3 maxims to lock it down. It's just a poorly designed lane, with heavy cover that can lock down half the side. OKW players usually go for double kubel there with aggressive sturmpios behind heavy cover, inducing minimal bleed on yourself, while bleeding and denying the enemy (or you go like a certain OKW level 18 player, spam volks, get them close range and then complain how my rifles are OP close range, even though they couldn't displace (with RE) one sturmipio squad behind yellow cover). Biggest trouble is that OKW opening vs USF. Double kubel with sturmpios. At least for me (don't know how to exactly counter double kubel + sturmpios on that map lane as USF) Maxim needs only a price reduction, unless a whole rework is in store for Soviets. It's weak, but not UP. One shouldn't really compare it with the MG42 because one is in a faction that relies on strong teams and Soviets rely on numbers and versatility. Hence, the units themselves are not the problem, but the tech design, IMHO. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Economic balance31 Dec 2020, 22:32 PM Arty spam is only a 4v4 problem. Seldom in 3v3 (well coordinated arranged teams). It's a problem that can't be balanced. You could increase the pop by a bit but that's it. In: COH2 Balance

Just don't. PGrens are fine IMHO. Even at their current timing. Never had any problems dealing with them early on in teamgames. And that's 3v3 so it's basically 1v1 in each lane where one MG42 and Pgrens can do wonders behind cover. Basically you need to flank around your teammates "lane" to get to MG42 because of it's wide arc, so pios + MG42 + pgrens can usually do wonders vs USF. Still, never had any problems with that. I think most of the imbalance comes from the map design and strong building points. Eg, sturmpios entering a strong building as a starting unit or MG42 doing the same. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: [Winter Balance Update] USF Feedback31 Dec 2020, 15:13 PM USF is currently dead in 3v3 and 4v4. Downright useless is pak howi in autofire. Barrage is still strong but the fact that 3 direct autofire shots did not kill 2 clumped up vet 3 and 4 volks says enough. 3 models dead in 3 shots. Out of 10. Scott is meh but Sander did make sense when he talked about the changes so I'm guessing that change is mostly for 1v1. Scott not being able to barrage over sightblockers is still #1 uselessness in team games. The 6th man in pak also makes (almost) no difference whatsoever. Werfer doesn't kill the pak in one salvo though. I don't think any of my paks survived any werfer salvo in the past, whether I would displace and get hit on the margins or dead center of the barrage. Now, pak survives with barely enough hp. Usually needs one more shot from a pistol to decrew it (or just throw a rock at it) In: COH2 Balance

If not work, click again another unit (not same before) and try again. I have noticed sometimes grouping/selecting units (with various abilites) make this bug. Did try all of those, and more. I do usually have 7 control groups and I shift fast between them... That's how my echelons got stuck with pak abilities, pak got stuck with echelon abilities. One rifle squad had captain abilities. Only unit in that game that didn't bug out at some point was the Captain. In: COH2 Bugs

Is putting zooks on a riflemen squad and blobbing with normal riflemen really that much of an issue? Somebody is putting zooks on rifles? Is that some sort of "I want to lose" tactics? Rifles are pretty munitions greedy for BARs to be effective late game. Zooks are only ever suited for echelons and rangers (Seldom paras). Who would in their right mind blob rifle zooks. That would be a huge munitions bleed that would lead to MP bleed without actually killing any tanks (unless the enemy is not paying attention) In: COH2 Balance

It's not useless. Later on when there are two howis active in the base, it can be used pretty nicely to lock down a sector or to deny an area. Thread: Any way to fix missing abilities bug?29 Dec 2020, 20:54 PM Just had a game where my Pak Howi was missing every ability. Including reinforce and barrage, ground attack, etc. Then my Rear echelon got my pak howi abilities. Meaning it could lob mega nades over 80 range. It couldn't but it would be fun if it could. Then my pak howi got the smoke and repair ability from my rear echelons, along with retreat. I tried to retreat the pak howi but then all of the abilities and icons would disappear again. The same thing was constantly shifting during the whole game. In the end I had to suicide them since they were useless and build again. We somehow won but it sucks, such game breaking bugs. Ranked or not. Is there any way of fixing the bug during the game or do I just have to run my units into a stuka barrage? In: COH2 Bugs

They win long range, so Volks have to close distance, but while advancing you are likely to lose models cause volks have omegabad rec acc. There is no way that volks win over 7man cons. But they dont have to. There are Obers and the 7man upgrade comse way later than Stgs so Volks have a window of pportunity there. Well, if the soviet is holding ground, they don't. If soviet needs to capture, they pretty much do. Trying to be offensive by camping behind cover won't net you a win vs a capable OKW player. They will either stuka you, flank you or just use leigs. It all depends how skillful you are. All mainline infantry is good so far. There is a reason OKW starts of with sturmpios which shred everything close to mid range, cover or no cover. A good OKW player will capitalize on that. What I mean is. Late game, where cover matters, every faction has enough tools to displace. If your mainline infantry loses to a straight shootout cover to cover. Then don't do that??? Each and every time one unit will be superior, be it superior by design, veterancy (longer on the field), upgrades (investment). Nobody can and should not complain about late game infantry supremacy in this or that faction. In: COH2 Balance
