I guess: because for 3 hours J4J was rank 4. He played some games in the meanwhile.
BartonPL double sign in as soviet and okw? Thats remembers me of last week with J4J somehow
I was actually rank 3 for the past few days while noganno was rank 4
first edit: That also wouldn't explain why I'm not listed as a backup either.
another edit: If noganno actually really wants to play, then he can. Its just that id prefer if it were because he asked to play instead and not because of (presumably) an oversight
I didnt watch the replay since im away from my computer, so im speaking strictly from experience and in concept (feel free to entirely disregard this knowledge if its not relevamt to what happened/what was possible in the game), but aggressive luchs play into ostwinds are probably the best bet.
Well, first things first, getting a kubel and keeping it alive is good for early capping and can later help you keep territory once you know where he sent his blob. Assuming you put up a decent to good early game (which you would hope to do as okw), you can get a decently early luchs. Get it the literal first second possible. His stuart should ideally be ~2 minutes off, so you should only have to worry about zooks. If he doesnt zook within the first minute, your luchs can dominate; if he does, then you would hope to have infantry dominance because stgs>zooks. Also, using zooks becomes much riskier for him if you have even 1 volks squad screening, just make sure to focus the zook squad first. With his zook squad gone, your luchs can then force the rest of the blob off. If he had multiple zook squads, well, again, youd hope to win in raw infantry engagements. Onto the main thing: scavenge. Jlis are good for denying garrisons and making it so that you can add a squad instantly to whichever area he attacks. Assuming you keep the map even, just spam ostwinds as soon as you hit 8 cps. Theyre probably the best crowd control/anti blob tool that okw can have (the sturmtiger has too much downtime and can be too predictable imo). Just mix in pumas as needed. Generally you would worry about heavy armor, but if hes blobbing, then try to bleed him super hard so that he never has enough mp for the vehicles.
Penetration formula = penetration/armor = % to pen; values less than 3% are reduced to 0%
Its nitpicking (forgive me), but it should just be "chance to pen", and not "PERCENT [chance] to pen." I know what you meant, and you know what you meant, but i just had to, sorry.
i took it from this site http://www.stat.coh2.hu/ since manually calculating DPS would take more time than simply getting it off the site... regardless penetration values werent factored in as i lacked the penetration formula in order to generate a mean time to kill system
Given. However, my point is that those values are so far removed from how those units actually perform/are balanced
/are used that quoting them essentially adds nothing to an argument.
And since you asked, the penetration formula is simply:
Weapon penetration / armor = chance to penetrate
That said, that website only lists the mid range value (i think) for a given weapons penetration, and all weapons have a close, mid, and far range value which complicated the theorycrafting and calculations a decent bit.
"Scarvenge is simply good with everything useful, i have it among my three doctrines like i have heavy cav in usf and mobile defense in ukf, but it can give you any at power at all."
Arr you blind or what ?
The point is not having field presence the point is that YOU CAN'T SKIP TECHING...which would be unfair because it nullify any substantial fuel advantage.
And ostwind doesn't come earlier than mechanized even tho it comes earlier than flak ht, but ostwind is from a mid tier, not a top tier, soo...
We can argue about call in sure, isn't the point of call in revert a snowballing effect ? If a call in gives you the ability of retain field presence it is wrong/cheese ? (SINCERELY ASKING).
I never saw call ins as a problem, unless they are so relevant that they become key part of player strategy and can evetually bypass normal teching.
"You can tech up and build other units later."
I thought that was the point of call ins ?
Also
"You can tech up later."
You should say that to the fleet of m4c shermans, m10's and shermans bulldozer.
Ps: I don't like spec ops, but not because i think it isn't powerful, i can't stand against the useless radio silence and fortification/elite armor are much better to me.
@tobis this post is why we try to avoid discussing balance with people who dont understand the game (but think they do), huh?
Spec ops could replace tier 4, spec ops SHOULD be locked in tier 4.
Ostwind can't
Greyhound can't
Hetzer can't
Panzer 4 command can't
FUCKING valentine can't
By the same reasoning valentine, hetzer, etc are all part of the call in meta and should be locked in tier 4, right ?
Tiger/is2 come too late to allow you to avoid teching.
Ps: But do me a favor, don't compare spec ops to armored, one single overpriced panther (that as i said, should still be locked to tier 4) isn't like using to full potential massed vehicles despite not going above captain.
Ahh, guess youre back to making stuff up. This is where i step out, which is fine since others seem ready to call you out on everything so that i dont need to
@shadowlink: id like to see who declares for which faction first since we're not allowed to redeclare. Also, if someone thats, say, ranked 10th (any rank below me but better than top 30, i guess; anyone below top 30 probably stands no chance with paul in the mix imo :/) with okw who hasnt played in a showdown yet, id prefer to let them play instead of pushing them out
