Another quality post from you - I guess you're talking about Volks?
Damn you stole the words right out of my mouth. |
Not when it can reverse at the same speed a t34 can move forward
Lol. Really though? |
I'm not sure why this was needed:
Main gun damage vs infantry set to -50%
The reason given was this:
"Due to the changes in the opposing factions (most notably 222 changes and Luchs), we are adjusting the performance of M15 to bring it in line with the other light vehicles. This will also help prevent the Lieutenant tier from dominating over the Captain tier."
I haven't tested it recently, but am pretty sure that the Luchs and 222 have no problem with a M15, even though they are cheaper (asymmetric balancing at its best). The reasoning then boils down to them deciding they had to nerf the M15 because they nerfed the Stuart.
Yeah I've got no idea why that happened. |
I really do feel that axis are overperforming this patch. Haven't won a single game as allies today, even when we played unequivocally better, and haven't lost a single game as axis. |
I've tried it a couple times since the new patch came out and ended up wishing I'd just saved the fuel to get a Sherman out quicker.
Me too. It takes way too long to suppress vetted volks and literally gets fausted to death in my experience lol. |
We wanted to normalize repair speeds across faction by nerfing it down to EFA levels. We tried really hard to do this, as this would help act as a safeguard vs UKF and, in particular, OKW super-OP late-game. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to include a fix to this disparity for GCS.
Repair speeds for EFA factions work like this:
- 1.6 at Vet0 (per entity)
- 2.6 at Vet2 (per entity)
Sturmpioneers, which only cost 50% more MP to field than Pioneers repair as follows:
- 3 at Vet0 (4, with minesweeper)
- 4 at Vet2 (5, with minesweeper)
Thus, by only paying 50% more than other faction engineers you get:
- 150% faster repair rates at Vet0 (minesweeper package & Vet0 repairs)
- You don't have to worry about maintaining your veterancy to keep adequate repair speed
- You have a capable combat squad on top of that
(OKW also has MechHQ which repairs at a rate of 3, but has 3 entities, however. Given how OP Sturmpioneer repair is, MechHQ repairs are redundant).
USF Vehicle crews are OK, and they follow that curve. With WBP they have been toned down as they can't get to Vet2 that easily anymore.
Rear Echelons and Sappers, however, repair as follows:
- 2 at Vet0
- 3 at Vet2
Sappers get an extra of +2 repair speed (additive) with the Heavy Sapper upgrade (Anvil)
If repair speeds would get normalized, we would change things as follows:
Sturmpioneer repair speed:
- 2.4 at Vet0
- 3.9 at Vet2
- Minesweeper upgrade no longer affects repair speeds
Rear Echelons/Sappers:
- 1.6 at vet0
- 2.6 at Vet2
- (5-man squads should come as 4-man squads on the field so that you don't get sapper models for free)
- Heavy Sapper upgrade bonus reduced from 2 to 1.3
(OKW can keep their MechHQ as is, to allow for non-popcap heavy repairs for players that gave up healing to get MechHQ)
Lol balanced. Rear echelons suck balls in combat though, and I'm pretty sure here 25 to reinforce. |
To be honest, the design of all WFA factions have always proven to be problematic. The lack of snares (Brits), of smoke (OKW), of Elite Infantry (USF), of realiable non-doc anti-building aka flamethrower are just redundant since they are the basic tools of every army in this game. How did Relic solve these at the first place? Oh, they just give these factions "power spikes" : Infantry Section extremely potent at raw AI damage, Rifleman extremely versatile, Volks extremely cost effective, etc. It's basically power creep that has been causing most of the imbalance to the game. Seriously, one day, give them all of these necessary tools, nerf/buff their "power spikes" accordingly, then we can expect a balance. As long as Brits don't get snare, OKW don't have smoke, USF don't get Elite Infantry, all of them don't get non-doc flamethrower, etc. , it will be a long way till this game get balance.
Yeah well the modding team's way more committed than relic ever was so as long as relic doesn't shut down the community patches maybe there is some hope. I just wish they were given more freedom. |
It could come within 5 minutes and it would still be hot trash. That's only slight hyperbole. The unit does about as much damage as warm bath water while having the maneuverability of a slug.
That's true. |
The doctrine does suck balls though. |
You mean that it arriving at the same time as light vehicles, all of which at least count as a soft counter?
Yes?
I'm pretty sure that the hetzer has enough armor to reliably deflect t70 and Stuart rounds, as last I remember, it could deflect ap Sherman rounds. |
