It's a problem of unit volume per size of map and focus fire due to volume of units. A double AT gun wall in 1v1 means a certain sacrifice in map presence and popcap. On teamgames, you are for certain sure that you will have targets and you can depend on your allies for capping or providing vision. Against a 2x AT gun wall, you have 5s to react before your tank dies (If they hit) That's the source of 90% of the problems in 2v2. 2v2 engagements are full army engagements that result in the complete rout of the defeated player. There is no room for manouvers or skirmishes. Its full force, all the time. There are limits to what mapmakers can do with the given map size, most of it is creating encased areas (the most glaring examples are the factory in Alliance of Defiance and the castle at Eindhoven Country). Imho, we should experiment with bigger map sizes so there is more room to fight, maybe adapt 3v3 maps instead of forcing 1v1 maps into the 2v2 pool In: COH2 Balance

As soviets: - Have a Zis3 - Steal a raketen with ppsh cons - Control+left click on any of the AT guns unit card on the top right (this should select all available ATG type units) There is some instances this will not work. Keep trying. It should work 7 out of 10 times. An attack order issued with the right click button will make the unit UI reappear, selecting any other unit type will also fix the UI In my current test, the Zis UI is working, but the raketen is showing the Zis UI and does not have any effect on the unit behavior Zis Bugged Zis Raketen Raketen with zis UI In: COH2 Bugs
Thread: Dealing with Obers as SOV24 Jun 2020, 06:06 AM Well, soviets lack high explosive damage on their base roster. By high explosive I'm talking about high aoe damage profiles (damage that circurvents their recived accuracy). Most of the infantry damage of the T34 comes from its machineguns. The T70 aoe its small and its more geared up for model sniping. Using a Zis barrage against them its almost suicidal, and the Su76 barrage has abysmal reload time and its in one of the worst units of the roster (The Su76 gun can't traverse, meaning the vehicle has to align perfectly against the center of enemy vehicles). Soviets can only rely on the Katyusha's alpha strike. In terms of supression, obers laugh at maxims and can death loop them with ease. The M5 quad its too nimble against at fire. The only supression that works against them is the one coming from planes. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Dealing with Obers as SOV23 Jun 2020, 22:29 PM Obers are so specialized to kill infantry that you need armor to counter them. You should exploit the window of oportunity until their vet to deal as much damage as posible. Once they have lmgs they will just mow down you infantry like grass. A T70 can work, as long as you learn to read when the oponent its overextending its obers as bait for him to set up his rakatenes and snuff out the light tank. Explosive weapons in general are excelent against obers because their recieved accuracy can't mitigate it. 120mm mortars can score devastating hits against them but they are too unrealiable. The T34/85 is alse great but you will have to wait a bit more to get it. If the enemy is blobbing too much just get a doctrine with IL2 loiters to break their assaults In: COH2 Balance

Thread: The power of Panzerfussilier18 May 2020, 17:46 PM Use conscripts in the early game to bully them. Carefully select your engagements to atack isolated units and focus on bleeding their models. Pfuss drop like flies without vet. Use this mp edge to transition into other units. Like maxims (always remember to bait them into your arc of fire). Shocks can win against them unless they blob, go for them if you see sloppy play to try to get some wipes and break parity. Guards can be used to blunt frontal assaults long as they have cons to soak up damage for them. Pfuss paired with a flaktrak are nightmare because with it they can render your entire infantry composition useless. Keep that in mind and get a zis that can be used to add more pressure in infatry fights. If you have double fuel go for a T34. If not, you can go for the always usefull T79 into Su85 to deal with their P4 and Tiger. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: The HM-38 needs a reload buff12 May 2020, 21:32 PM According to miragefla, there is a difference in damage between the barrage and autofire rounds. Can't remember which one was the weakest, must be the barrage. In my opinion, before any tweaks on stats, the unit needs urgent QoL changes. 1) Make it set up in an arc. This way you avoid the unwanted repacking times when it chooses to fire at a unit outside its cone and forces the soviet player to use it more actively. 2) Standarize the damage. In terms of which way the unit should go, I'm all about the little howitzer route. In: COH2 Balance
