That early 10% does make a difference, Rifles have higher scaling with higher investment, but to get there you need to get seal clubbed by OKW for quite sometime. No should deny the fact Riflemen are strong, with veterancy, grenades and 2 BARs, the issue is getting there because OKW has better early game, better light vehicles now and access to MG and ATG all the time. |
I wish they would do something with airborne company. It has way too many callins to be useful and recon support just has so many better aspects that it really doesn't feel worth using at all.
Thompson Paratroopers, Pathfinders with 2 scoped rifles, P47 vs super heavy TDs.
The issue is that the Commander has 3 skills, 2 needing to be reworked into something more useful in my opinion, skipping teach with heavy manpower calls in doesn't work well for USF. |

If they didn't nerf the BAR in the same patch they nerfed the Bren, then I think it will stay like that, unless USF gets reworked. |
There is not much you can do as USF vs OKW in larger teamgames I'm afraid, since teamgames allow players to get away with things you could punish in 1vs1, in theory at least since OKW has the upper hand vs USF through the game there too. |
Not to derail the topic too much, but in addition to the obvious MP cost decrease, as has been discussed in a few threads recently swapping around the tech might be a good solution.
It may have made sense in the past when USF early game was overpowered, but at the moment it makes absolutely no sense to have both AT options in the Captain tier (Stuart, AT gun) and both suppression options (MG, flak HT) in the Lieutenant tier. On top of that the Lieutenant tier has two anti-infantry light vehicles (M20 and flak HT). This is very WTF design.
So why not swap the Flak HT with the AT gun? Then the tiers make sense:
LT: MG for suppression, AT gun for AT, M20 for harassment
Cpt: Flak HT for suppression, Stuart for AT, Howitzer for harassment
This even makes sense from an immersion standpoint - LT has the basic tools, but if you can hold out for that little extra fuel for Captain, you get some higher shock-value units to play around with.
You could make LT a little cheaper fuel wise and Captain a bit more expensive then too. |
The M20 does get penetration on it's main gun at vet3, but it's so low to begin with that it hardly matters, you could buff it's penetration to be as much as the HMG .50 cal now. |
Riflemen are a long term investment, just keep them alive and eventually they will out-trade even elite infantry, it's not their problem the other factions powercreep has hurt them early on but their scaling remains very strong. |
I wish it was cheaper just so you could trade one for a Sniper in dire situations, happens too often, I'd use it as a mine-layer, scout and capping police then. |
I really liked what you've done with USF, besides removing Officer Squads (LT and Cap), any chance you can make them buildable after unlocking their tiers? |

Not in team games, where a single Bofors can lock down an entire chokepoint-section of the map.
Talk to your ally to build indirect fire and barrage it together, if it braces assault it directly, it's a "teamgame" after all. |
