Hm, I don't actually have much time tomorrow to check the games and players out while they are live so not really... In: Events Central |

I would be interested to pull statistics for this one; problem is I need the STEAM IDs for the players and so far have not figured out how to get them from the battlefy page... I can click on the team window to get the players names and then view their profile but those don't basically don't seem to contain any information... Any suggestions? In: Events Central |

Hi there! You can find a lot of casts in the shoutcast section. If your are specifically interested to see games from the players perspective you can of course check out the twitch casters on the frontpage. I guess the highest ranking player that streams frequently these days is HelpingHans. He also has a youtube channel with games from his perspective and a lot of video guides in his "Tip of the Week" series. Another youtube channel with games from the players perspective is LSP for example In: New Members |
Thread: Tournament Statistics: Axis Meta14 Dec 2016, 12:43 PM
Why in the OKW section is there suddenly Soviet commanders and Soviet buildings? Ugh, I updated the way the portraits are embedded because the method of rescaling of images that I used was a bit wonky in older browsers WHILE AT THE SAME TIME working on the soviet meta. Not a good idea at 1 AM, it seems... Spoiler alert, I guess Thanks, fixed. In: News |
Thread: Help! UKF 1v112 Dec 2016, 23:26 PM
On your questions in the first spoiler:
You only get resources for sectors which are connected to your base (if some of the sectors you captured are not connected to your base, they flash on the minimap). Often maps have certain sectors that connect large/important parts of the maps to your base. So, if your enemy captures those, your are likely to be "cut off" from most of your territory and thus get only little resources. These important sectors are commonly referred to as "cutoffs". Where they are (and if there are any at all) depend on the sector layout of the map in question and on the game situation. Like, often there is one fuel point that is closer to your base and a cutoff associated with that fuel point. However, it might happen that the game develops to a situation where you capture the fuel point further away from your base instead of the closer one. Your "natural" cutoff to the closer fuel, which you don't own in that case would be not overly significant.
Yes. Well, the first impact is that the squad is worse at fighting, because one of the dudes will now hold a mine detector instead of his standard gun so the firepower of the squad is lower. However, they automatically detect enemy mines when they are close. And these mines don't explode as long as the mine sweeper is near, even if another squad or vehicle steps on them. And finally, the mine sweeper squad will automatically start to sweep the mine if it's idling close to a mine.
Yes. Well, with LMG he refers specifically to the bren in this case (the LMGs of the other factions are the LMG42 (WM), LMG34 (OKW), M1919 (USF) or DP28 (SOV).
Well, depends on your preferences . Matches vs. the AI definitely help to check out the sector layout of the different maps in case you want to be more prepared for ladder matches. However, once you reached a certain level I find you can't really learn that much in games against AI anymore because the AI tends to produce really weird stuff in particular later in the game (like, for example late game light vehicles) and generally plays nothing like a real person would. Thread: Maps in automatch (wb Rzhev (S), bye Hill 400)12 Dec 2016, 18:09 PM
Edit: Re Rzev Summer and Hill 400, check out post #6 ff. I'm currently looking into creating some piece on map statistics for automatch and the different ladders. Now, to get the data I download basically the map history from each player from relics server. Funnily, when going through the data I got back, it seems like very occasionally something funny happens, namely that according to the database match happens on a map that is not in the automatch pool. Now, I'd like to verify if this is a glitch in the database that I get the data from (like, the wrong match was stored) or if those matches actually happened on these maps. I'm currently checking from the 25th of May to the 24th of October. For 1v1 all is fine. For 2v2 I have five matches on "Don River". There is one constant, in all cases foboes was playing. For 3v3 I have 2 games that apparently were played on "Rzhev, Summer", in particular on the 20th of September, a 21 minute match involving i29 (UKF), RAMBO (UKF) and Wild boar (SOV). and then on 24th of September, a 20 minute match involving i29 (OH), -HOI-EliasZhao (UKF), -HOI-mmmMask (UKF) and [HAN]Sturmovika (UKF). In 4v4, there are: On the 17th of July, a match on "Ettelbruck Station" involving Dursthorn (OKW), stubborn (USF), Vandolizm (OKW), mgall (OKW) and [KKKK] Born to KILL (USF). Then on the 15th of September, a 0 minutes, 0 damage match on a map called "verdun-valley-of-death-v002" involving (ok, getting lazy now, here's the text dump) Code
and finally another match on Ettelbruck on the 6th of October: Code
Did these matches really happen on those maps? PS: The number of players is correct, I only omitted those that are not known to my script due to them not being ranked before the game PPS: Yes, there was some hiccup in one of the game servers this year for less than a day, where you would always end up on the same weird map. However, that was before the 25th of May. In: Lobby |
Thread: Relic Winter Balance Preview v1.1 Update7 Dec 2016, 16:35 PM
For timing I guess you could tie the upgrade to soviet T3, which would give a rushed 222 a window of about 1 to 2 minutes. Also, you could fiddle around with the times the upgrade needs to complete. That said: If I understand correctly, the Penal-PTRS damage against infantry will be nerfed, so there should be a real trade-off to the upgrade. Like, an upgraded penal squad should be significantly worse in the AI department than a non-upgraded. Simply upgrading all penals should leave you at a severe disadvantage in the AI department, latest when upgrade axis infantry appears, no? In: Lobby |
Thread: How add gif on signature?6 Dec 2016, 16:04 PM
Not sure at which point you get stuck, so: - Upload the figure to some place where it can be accessed (one option is under "My files" on your account here) - Go to "My Profile" - Click on "Edit signature" - Add the image to the signature. The code for that could look like: Code
to embed this image (*): Note, though that there is a limit of the size of the figure... (*) obviously, replace the https://www.coh2.org/file/12892/4v4-maps.png with the address of the image you want to put there. In: New Members |

Edit: This is output from the program I used for the meta review, so it's not showing all upgrades, abilities or offmaps, but I can easily make it show more or less stuff, depending on what you are interested in. In: Lobby |

Thanks for the replies, I see your point. However, I guess even if the lethality is brought down to the levels of the OH mortar, you probably still get complaints like in this thread which come down to OH units being more static and thus suffer more vs. a mortar.
Ok, I forgot the price decrease in manpower, thanks. Let's see if that's enough to make it attractive... Ever considered switching it with the M1 ATG? This ways both Lt. and Cpt. would have a suppression and AT option and AB would suddenly look significantly more attractive, no? In: Lobby |
