It'd utterly butcher any snareless unit left exposed, but was disappointingly ineffective vs snares. Then OKW got snares and the M20 gave way to the Stuart. Then the Stuart got nerfed and the Stuart gave way to a AAHT. Flattening out its damage was a good call imo. It turns it into a solid damage dealer all round rather than plinking away at snare troops and mercilessly slaughtering engineers, MGs and PGrens. Flatting out the damage output was a good changes buffing the far DPS by 180% and lowering XP values was not. The units was great before the tech changes and yet it received major buffs like price reduction, XP value, DPS buff while calling it become less punishing since Bazooka access and ATG access become easier/cheaper. As it stands noone us going to lock themselves out of the Churchill and OKW repair speeds just for the nerfed war speed and satchel charges. 5 men Heavy sapper actually reaper faster than SP. The unit also vet faster since a Vet 3 M20 is now much closer to vet 2 M20. Jump back to quoted post13 Mar 2019, 10:37 AMLago The accuracy changes on paoper gave it some long range firepower but reduced its short range lethality: it'd be interesting to see if the accuracy changes are just buffs or if they were altered to compensate. They are straight buffs and the change to close accuracy is hardly a nerf because it applies mostly to ranges close to 0-10 and the m20 hardly chooses to go point blank. Actually a vet 3 m20 post patch has 107% 138% 182%!!! more DPS than it used to close mid and long range respectively. Keep in mind that a vet 0 m20 has a range of 45. In: COH2 Balance

M20 The M20 has received some adjustments to increase its ability to scale into the mid game and be easier to replace if lost. -Manpower cost from 340 to 240 -M20 accuracy from 0.75/0.475/0.2 to 0.55/0.45/0.25 -Weapon accuracy increases with veterancy: +10%/+15%/+15% -Veterancy requirements lowered from 880/1760/3520 to 500/1000/2000 -Veterancy 3 reduces mine deployment time from 12 to 7 seconds. -Veterancy 3 increases stealth detection radius by 10; goes up to 35. Cruzz's might be different, but the numbers are super drastically different that this cannot be trusted at all. 10/15/20/25/30/35 Shock Troops: 14.2/4.787/1.647/0.6225/0.1186 Stormtroopers: 18.6/7.1/2.44/0.71/0.11 Shocks are still niche, but I think they are in a decent spot. I have not seen a sheet from Cruzz that includes the MP40 only the MP44s. https://coh2db.com/stats/ The DPS of the squads according to the number provided by you are: shock troops_ppsh-41_sub_machine_gun_mp 85.2/28.7/9.9/3.7/0.7 stormtrooper_mp40_smg_mp 74.4/28.4/9.76/2.84/0.44 and the ratio of the DPS is: 115%/101%/101%/1.32%/1.62% so the profiles are different ranging from 101% to 162%. But the difference in performance does not lay in the DPS but in the durability and DPS loss when models drop. Jump back to quoted post13 Mar 2019, 03:27 AMmiragefla Even vs Ostheer, Shocks had the issue with bleed as LMGs could focus them down and their CQC nature means they will be encountering those vehicles and eating lots of damage in the later stages of the game. Shocks also come with cost, population and only being able to tackle infantry at a specific range. They have to do that specific job well given they compete with Guard doctrine who can tackles all threats to an extent without needing to close. Imo that is no justification in making Shock troops OP. If guards are OP they should be nerfed and not the other way round. According the tests made by Bizrock (which should only be used as an indication) Guards perform better the LMG Paras and 3 BARS Rangers when both units are long Range AI units with no AT contrary to Guards. Don't get three rifles - the new system allows you to viably go only two rifles. Also, I know LT used to cost 300 (I thought captain used to cost 300 too...). It used to be slightly undercosted because of the BAR (300 manpower is preferable to 280/60, I'm sure most would agree). Now that it has no bar, its roughly worth 280, which is what they currently costs. Regardless, it doesn't matter what they USED to cost because their current value is around 280 manpower. What I said was both correct and relevant. What you said was also correct but also irrelevant. Few remark before closing: A unit value does not change because it was ninja discounted, its value was estimate to 300/320 for years even when the free weapon where removed. An Officers is superior to riflemen hence it has a higher value. In fact in the latest patches they have received buffs in performance and since the time it hit the field is earlier the "value" is actually higher than before the patches.
