My pleasure dude! Just glad to help. I'm happy you found the review legible and useful. I get the benefit of an outside perspective and obviously none of the tension from being in game. It's a good feeling, if not a little overwhelming at times. It's probably why a lot of us play and compete. It makes it tough to reason out lines, and parse out all the information your given while in game to make the good decisions, and who knows, things can go either way. I just try and suggest things based on what I've seen on average, and my understanding of faction dynamics. ^^

Try building more than one JgdPz in a game, I dare you. If you succeed, count the number of su-85s built in the meanwhile. Your bias will decrease by a mile.
in my last game played on kharkov it was an admirable counter to the Su85, and 2 of them, a couple shreks and a raketenwerfer disolved 4 34/85's. guards and map control became a problem though. it can be tough when you have so many specialized units and no meat left to provide a core army. |
i hate you rzhev. |
It's essential to recognize the pio spam early and get a bren gun carrier. You're not making sense my friend. The math involved here to create such a lopsided situation is impossible. You're not facing a StuH by the time you get your first Bren gun.... We can't help you unless you're willing to be realistic. 5 pio squads, without vet, is at least 3 minutes worth of income, more than enough for you to have an Lt. and a Bren Carrier, at least, maybe another stock infantry section as well. If your recon squad is pushed away, you can be left floundering without anywhere to plop your HQ down, especially if they interrupt the cap by pushing your squad. This is why I suggested leaving your HQ in your base sector.
The Bren gun will never be useless, buttoning and PIAT's will be a pretty good soft counter for the StuH, and provide more than ample time to either flank it with a Stuart or if you're doing well, a Cromwell, or even outright destroy it with the PIATs alone. Don't forget to flank it's frontal armor.

Then how did I get rank 11 in 3v3 AT so easily? We crush axis early and mid game with our aggressiveness. To be rank 11 after 11 games means we were most likely beating top 50-100 teams. Our 3rd partner in our team we had played a grand total of maybe 5 games with before we started.
you tell me. have a crack at the strategy section.
i'm sure many players WHO DON'T POSSES SUCH ALMIGHTY, LORDLY TALENT such as yourself and your teammates are curious at to how you found success.
---
i only stated that conceptually they hold an edge. i didn't say that facing an axis AT would be like assaulting festung europa... |
don't forget the mine at the HQ, and the pio + shrek gren in a 251 rush... fun stuff. (insert best game ever, perfectly balanced yada yada yada here)
alright... if i remember correctly, you have a couple options, you may:
-keep your trucks in your base
-build an early vickers in a super-unflankable spot... not a great option.
-i think the best option was a bren gun carrier and a vickers.
regardless, be sure to get a bren gun on your first section and instead of going Cpt. to stuart straight away, a couple engineer sections and PIATs are going to be required to chase away the HT, if you're really pinned in a mortar pit can help you clear the bunkers.
good luck
addition:
going back through old notes. the Lt. had forward recon artillery from the royal canadian artillery regiment at 2 CP's which murdered bunkers, as well as commando demos. you may want to try 2 recon sections, a joint snipe can neutralize a Pak38 and make a flame pio squad think twice. supported by a bren gun carrier this could at least make it an uphill approach for the wehrmacht.
a base dive with the bren gun carrier, a reverse cheese can also be deadly, and finally the churchil with it's mine plow and tank shock if you can survive to 3 CP's can really be deadly if micro'd correctly.
edit edit: i wonder if basilone or any other of the reborn guys will catch this thread. pretty sure they invented the damn thing. i wasn't in the habit of citing strategies back then, so i don't really know who to attribute it to, but either way, i'm sure there's some people that know this tactic more intimately and can help you. |
Thread: Sniper12 May 2015, 03:45 AM
Just came out of two games. One on La Glize where I got absolutely steam rolled, in part due to a clunkly double pio opening that usually relied on an MG, but it was a lot harder to find firing lanes. The other was on Eindhoven where I tuned things up. In the latter my sniper really got going and found some fine form. I hardly had to even micro him after my 222 arrived. It was a field day he basically Michael Jackson moon walked his way to 34 kills.
So, currently I definitely echo the sentiment that it can be pretty map dependent. |
RUN AWAY! |
My fellow left-hander! If you have autohotkey, here is a set-up I have put together since using my right hand on WASD forces my thumb into an extremely unergonomic position to hit shift and ctrl. With this set up it's easy to reach right shift and ctrl and keep your hand open.
Only one issue... with R set to + when you hit it infantry responds "retreating!" but doesn't. I have reported this bug to no avail. W can also be iffy for stop. I have both of these keys bound to thumb buttons on my mouse as well to compensate.
Cheers

I have had this suspicion in the past. I mean, did they REALLY put files in the patch a while back that say the name of the new faction in multiple places?! If the NDA is so intense wouldn't the person responsible for that be fired or something? Seems like an easy way to not get blamed by Papa SEGA.
I am in the alpha and I have ------ that aren't supposed to be in it yet. There is no way they are making the same mistake over and over without it being intentional.
saturn ringed brodie tin hats, thematically 19/20th century british phrasing, hidden files. etc. like, they're really going out of their way to make allusions and hints. like katitof has said, the free perpetual motion hype machine that only escalates as it gains momentum. like the parcel that's under the christmas tree for 9 months as someone metaphorically mentioned earlier. |
