Recon Company (the commander with M8 Greyhound) has nice things in it but it doesn't feel well designed or much thought was put into it. Like Relic took a group of random things and threw them in together.
If you can afford it in terms of munition consumption, recon support is very good usf commander. Definitely A-tier (if we consider Airborne to be S-tier). JUst build cache bro. |
I am not really a USF kind of guy but now that we are at it lemme have a try at fixing usf
- Remove Weapon Racks completely. Make the gren upgrade also enable a muni upgrade for each unit (Wehrmacht style) and let them upgrade on the go. No need to run back one and two times to base just to get more weapons. Make the upgrade more expensive though, like double in cost.
- Riflemen get options to upgrade to bars or zooks, as do all squads on the field. You pay either for one or two weapons 50 muni each.
- Riflemen get reworked vet bonuses to actually make them comparable to the -right now- clearly superior Pathfinders. I personally would give them better mid-long range performance, and bring them en-par with Grens and Cons and Volks. I would also allow them to build sandbags.
- Make the tech tree LINEAR. Idiotic side teching should be ABOLISHED in COH2 or even be brought into OKW's standards with little trucks. Bring a closed t1->t2->t3 system that allows the player to actually have all the tools in game to counter foes. No more backteching to lieut to get atg.
- Make truly LIGHT vehicles. No more rushing stuarts. Make E8/Gayhound actually viable and able to be good against both infantry and axis lv in order to let the USF be the LV kings (since retard kings are clearly ukf who are fubar).
- Remove RE's ridiculous suppress fire ability. It never works anyway.
- Give USF a serious lategame infantry saver!!! What happens when you lose a rifleman? You get set BACK! That's what happens. OKW have Obers, SOV have Guards/7man cons/Penals, OST have PzGrens. What USF have???
|
OKW loses hard to a properly managed sniper. Go for t1 and build sniper after cons to have a good punch and surprise him. Start with this and work your way up. |
In all my COH2 life, I have met only one player that had sniper + commissar duo. He absolutely wrecked me with just these 2 units. But I cannot really imagine how microintensive that must have been.
I think it's worth a try for sure. |
Well, in the beginning was planned to update only new units, such as Raid Section, Luftwaffe officer and AirGuards. But we also made several other units, who didn't get original design in the first place. Thanks to Relic, all of them made it to the game (even not used Jaeger officer skin, which was designed as squad leader for jaeger command squad)
We also wanted to create special skin for UKF weapon crew, but we found proper option after deadline was reached. Grenadiers were mentioned by community too, but they were left untouched, because they have their unique model and skin.
There is no news about future patches (and i doubt there will be any tbh), but if dream for a while, i would like to give a touch to this units:
1. Soviet Comissioner (there is unused model for 1943+ soviet army officer, fits better than NKVD guy).
2. Cavrifles. Rifleman model, imho, found to be not the best choice. Engineers model with backpacks for SMG mags fits better.
3. Grenadiers. If go futher, sturmpioneers model is good choice to start (remove backpack). Winter version can be taken from Ostruppen or ostheer weapon crew.
4. UKF weapon crew, because there is none atm. British engineers model is a good candidate for it.
5. Fusiliers winter model. IIRC they use same model as summer one, i think some ostheer model will be better (because it has additional stuff on it).
All of them with new skins of course.
Bonus, there are some broken assets for german tank crew (unusable in vehicles). If repair them, they will be good option for german tank commander.
Good ideas all. But if there is another patch coming (99.5% sure it will not) it's all going to be number and stat changes. I doubt any work that requires original thinking and design vision could be okayed by relic at this point in coh2's life. |
And I play in arranged team as allies, with casual mates, who A move blobs and dont use cover. We win against better arranged and random teams, because in discord I can tell them what to do, where to go and what to build.
Your point?
I really enjoy part of the community, who states AT arent a big deal. This argumentation is probably fully backed, by the fact that almost all games competitive games with MM are trying to match AT teams against other AT teams.
But hurr durr I am casual boomer, who just wants to play some WW2 RTS and move squads around, I have a car to fix and loan to pay, I dont want to wait additional 5 mins to get into fair game.
CoH2 already lost god knows how many players, simply because, aside from some masochists who dont mind, being put in unfair games is no fun for normal people.
Exactly that my mate.
People who do nothing in life but play videogames cannot understand that, and resort to the classic "hurr durr learn to play noobcuck" while in reality, they are the cucks that spend every waking moment and time of their life in developing a skillset in a decade old rts that, by some miracle, still survives.
By day I am a mathematician trying to make it into the shitty academic world, and I get to play COH2 for MAYBE 5 matches a week, while at the same time working on 3 papers at once. I play COH2 to relax my nerves and this shitty MM system puts all the pressure in the "average" player. And everytime I bring that up, half the people here (who I presume are younger than 12 year olds) tell me to "suck less".
Wow gg. |
i bought this game sometime back in october of 2014.
back then, you used to randomly get intel bulletins or commanders as rewards every few games or so like you do now, but you didnt get supply coins. so you had to entirely hope you got the bulletins you wanted by sheer chance. the thing is, you could have duplicates. meaning you could sport 3 bulletins of the same thing. like 3x 5% panther armor. the MOST broken triple bulletin was the american riflemen 10% veterency bonus. if you could somehow be lucky enough to get 3x 10% rifle vet bulletins you were giga-broken.
also it was mentioned that the tiger ace was free i think at like 18 CP, but it was triple star vet. so yeah, it was broken.
the most broken commander i can think of was (i cant think of the name off hand) a wehrmacht commander that had a skill you could apply veterency from 0 CP immediately from the start of the game for munitions. it was a set amount of XP for a cooldown. if you used it on a gren it would be 2 star right off the bat. you could use it once every 5 minutes or less, something like that. very broken.
there used to be no cap on the number of heavy tanks you could get. i remember games where i had 3 tiger tanks on the field.
there used to be cold weather maps. still to this day when you are upgrading the sturmp shreks it says its a cold weather package. on the cold weather maps blizzards came along and basically rekt the entire game for several minutes. you had to immediately run your troops near a fire or build one with engineers or they would die in like a minute. people hated it. it stopped games in their tracks, it was cool for a bout 2 games, then was annoying.
there was a bug in one patch once, where you could infinitely reinforce rear echelon squads. people were running around with 20+ men in one squad. in fact i made a video of a game i played of that.

Tiger Ace used to be a cool, movie-like unit. An elite unit capable of turning the tide or close off a sure victory. Kind of like Konigistiger is now. I liked it back then. 3 veterancy was also awesome. |
Well considering how terrible COH3 is looking especially after todays video from twitch it looks more and more like a repeat of Dawn of War 3.
Mobile Touch Friendly UI
Ultra Bright Cartoony Graphics
Considering that AOE4 currently has less players than COH2 it is a high probability that Relic is done after losing all of its key talent (most are in Blackbird Interactive now working on Homeworld 3)
THANK YOU!
I HAVE BEEN PREACHING THIS SINCE THAT SHITTY MULTIPLAYER ALPHA TESTING PHASE.
IT LOOKS LIKE ANGRY BIRDS BUT WITH GARANDS AND PANZERS.
RELIC FIX PLZ. |
lmao who even plays this shit on mac or worse, linux |

1v1 is the purest form of the game. One player against another, a duel. It's not as bombastic as the other modes, however, and it suffers from the simple fact that your performance in a match can be attributed only to you and you don't have that plausible deniability of being in quadruple digits because of your teammates.
imagine playing coh2 for peak performance |
