We know for so many years its all FOMO with nothing to miss out really, but people still keep falling for it and paying for unknown with hopes of advantage from their higher priced edition only to be disappointed over and over and over again. Thread: CoH 3: Hammer & Shield Expansion Pack24 Nov 2023, 15:35 PM The venerable PatFenis said this in the chatbox already but it would probably have counted for quite a lot if they just admitted that the game was no-where near finished and released it in 'Early Access' instead of pretending that they had even close to a finished product to sell to people. Then again, the previous game was released in a dogshit state too and there was no early access then either, so I suppose it's not all that surprising, given their track record. In: COH3 Central

Games historically have always been rushed. Very few games benefit from being delayed and that is typically just last minute changes or bug fixes. I think it's more about them being unfinished rather than 'rushed', with bugs and missing features that ruin the experience. Plenty of games are rushed in the sense that the developers are forced to crunch in order to get a semi reasonable product out on time, no doubt that they would benefit from a delayed launch because it gives them vital time to finish the product. It's just the nature of the industry. I shudder to think how much worse this one would of been if it wasn't delayed. There's a very strong argument that it should have spent another year in development, at least. In: COH3 Central
Thread: COH3 Reviews as of OCT 202317 Oct 2023, 13:52 PM I completely get why a lot of people who played the previous game would still give it a bad review, even now. Until it reaches the same sort of threshold as 2 in terms of commanders and maps, how could you not view it negatively? Particularly if you never played the previous game on release or during its dark period. There's still a lot of delusional criticism about balance but that's always going to be there. I really hope that it is allowed to develop and the expansion(s) with new maps and commanders can come through too, there is so much to offer in this game already in terms of the factions and their build variety, it could be awesome with more diverse commanders like in 2 and of course, careful balancing (yeah, I know, funny because its Relic). For me its just a shame the sound sucks so much in all aspects, from the voice acting to the unreliable barks and warnings that were much better and more consistent in 2. In: COH3 Central
Thread: Advanced Optics15 Oct 2023, 11:33 AM It could see it getting nerfed slightly, but for me Advanced Optics isn't really that obnoxious. However that huge vision buff for the Ketten definitely is. No idea what they were thinking as it doesn't even need to be unlocked. At the very least, it could start much smaller and then gradually increase with Vet? Coupled with its stealth it definitely feels a bit unfair, particularly on the more laney maps. Thread: Is Italian Combined Arms actually bad at combined arms?8 Oct 2023, 09:00 AM Never really used Bersas, pretty much exclusively picked the doc for its ability to buff up Panzergrens with the Breda/LMG combo. Helped a lot back when they were the weakest mainline in the game. Now they definitely aren't so weak but Combined Arms does seem to have been gutted. In: COH3 Central
