He's not strictly an Allied player but I find Tightrope to generally be quite informative. |
2007: British are released in Coh1...
This really struck me as well. Every time that they shoehorn these static, turtling units and tactics into the game, almost everybody universally hates coming up against it in games. It's almost certainly a skill issue on some level, because once it gets properly balanced it hardly ever works at high level play, but the devs seem determined to have some version of it in every iteration of the game. I have no idea why. Just a lack of unique ideas for different factions? |
I'm still not sure where I stand on the whole VP tick rate thing. If some super heavies or more lategame vehicles got introduced perhaps it would make even more sense. Though after hating it at first I will say I'm quite used to the shorter length of games now.
Maps and commanders are probably the two biggest missing pieces, for me. The challenge will be introducing new commanders while trying to keep the game somewhat balanced and not harming build variety too much. With that said, I'm still holding out hope for sound that's worthy of the previous entries, a proper crush mechanic and the ability to war crime those fucking medics, that would go a long way as well but that's just my personal preference.

I could never work this out until someone told me either. As they say, Q or 'attack move' directly on the weapon you want to destroy. It might still miss several times depending on the range difference but it will destroy it much more reliably then manually clicking attack ground. |
Hmm today I will tell you all about a game that I've never actually played.
They just can't help themselves.

Sorry Nigel. Let's not hijack the thread any more than we have already. |
Yes, I took an account from a person and played the game again.
I can really tell. |
I don’t know how you guys play this, but looking at CoH3, CoH2 is an ideal game. CoH3 is just total spam, spam and spam is 1000 times worse than CoH2, there is no concept of combined arms combat here at all. And this was created by the top players in the Company of Heroes. Disgraceful.
While there are definitely numerous issues and lessons around balance that frustratingly, don't appear to have been carried over, the idea that there is no concept of combined arms combat in the game is kind of silly. It's just another hyperbolic complaint that isn't particularly helpful or constructive. Have you decided to play the game yet, out of interest? |
You could hear a 105 or Hummel fire and predictively retreat.
Haha I have boomer reactions as well these days, I forgot about the Hummel. Now you've gone and made me nostalgic for COH 1's sound too! |
i do not miss coh2 wipe machines, you need l33t reaction times to avoid those 2-3 hits.
coh3 has a more involved tank battles and infantry skirmish now.
i do miss the predictive/retreating grenade throws wipes.
Yep, fair enough. The game seems to have a bit less lethality in it, by design. |
no more fast stuka zu fuss, no more bs heavy tank destroyers, doctrinal panther and less arty spam in general.
Ah... But I do miss the reliable wipe machine that was CoH 2's Stuka zu Fuss. |
