I didn't say that the bren and PIAT have a higher tendency to drop. I said that they seem to drop more because its possible for them to drop as soon as the IS goes from 4 models to 3. That's not how that works. The reason why it happens/happened to Guards is that PTRS's have a slot size of 1, something carrying a PTRS cannot take another weapon. Tommy Scoped Lee's have a squad size of 0, if you try and pick something up with a Tommy squad that's been reduce to 2 men with Scope Lee's you can pick it up. Except, you know, the G43 doesn't come on squads that have other droppable weapons, so it doesn't cause the same problem. G43's count as slot weapons but have a size of 0, so they don't stop you from picking other things up and if you lose models they will keep the item you picked up. I brought this up to point out why what you said isn't correct. STG44s take up weapon slots, but they do not work the same way as scoped enfields. You will never see a schreck pgren squad with 2 STGs and no pshrecks, because the Panzerschrecks have priority. They do not take up weapons slots, you can still pick things up if you have StG44s (Ober StG44's do count tho). The reason why I point out they were slot weapons is just because something is classified as a slot weapon does not mean that it takes up space. In: Lobby
Thread: Bofors needs a nerf against infantry4 Sep 2015, 20:58 PM In general it's bad design to have any unit that can instantly kill anything that entire a certain radius of it. The Bofors needs it's accuracy profile mirrored to that of the Flak Truck so it's no longer hyper accurate in scatter AND base accuracy. Still confused why people are attacking the bofors with infantry. You don't attack the SWS in this manner. Damage tables could assist with the garrison issue correct? Attacking a Schwer HQ with multiple flanking infantry squads is very much a viable tactic, you can't tell what the Schwer to shoot at remember? In: COH2 Balance

Vet 3 Sturms (4 men) have .66, Vet 3 Volks (5 men) have .81, Vet 3 Obers (4 men) have .497, Vet 3 JLI (4 men) have 0.568, Vet 3 Fallsch (4 men) have 0.55593, Vet 3 Pgrens (4 men) have 0.568, Vet 3 Storms (4 men) have 0.5325, Vet 3 Ass Grens (5 men) have .71. So yeah Riflemen at Vet 3 will be in the top 5 most durable squads in the game thanks to not being limited to a 4 man squad while having received accuracy normally reserved for extremely expensive elite infantry. Usually Riflemen get BARs/M1919s while Rear Echelons get bazookas. I probably should have also mentioned AT nades/Fausts help you vet up really fast to, as your hitting something that costs waaaaaay more than you do and doing a chunk of damage to it. But yes I know most people don't use Zooks I was just explaining how you can crank up how fast you vet. In: COH2 Balance

Plus all infantry in coh2 vet fast not only rifles How quickly you vet up depends on what your fighting. The reason why Rifles tend to vet quickly is they can be equipped with a hand held AT weapon (fastest way for any unit in the game to vet up) and they have only slightly higher vet requirements than Grens (while shooting at more expensive per model things normally). As this unit relies on accuracy (which it has a lot of) but has a high ROF it does a lot of DPS, in fact, most of the flak in game either has poor accuracy against infantry (like most ballistic weapons) but good scatter (which is why they are "accurate" or is "counted" small arms fire were it's always accurate against tanks but much less so versus infantry (depending, the Flak Truck has scatter but also accuracy). The Bofors has excellent accuracy AND scatter, so when it "misses" it will still almost always scatter directly on top of the squad. It's radius of affect is 1 (with now damage drop off) resulting in it basically creating an instant death area around it for infantry because it has essentially perfect accuracy due to the combination of excellent base accuracy and scatter as well as 40 damage per round. On top of this it's vet makes it swivel and acquire targets very quickly, meaning it's ability to instantly gib anything that enters it's radius becomes more powerful as it vets up, making flanking essentially useless. Thread: balance preview mod rifle buff4 Sep 2015, 19:27 PM Jump back to quoted post4 Sep 2015, 18:52 PMLemonJuice they should beat every other basic rifle infantry in the game. elite infantry generally dont have as hard of a time killing them, and also dont forget that most axis infantry got a pretty hefty reinfroce cost decrease. I wouldn't count "5" as hefty in any kind of way. Obers will now be 45 and Fallsch 42.75. They also didn't reduce the reinforce time so they will still take a long time to reinforce. And actually the very high received accuracy will make them much better against rifle using units (Axis units use almost exclusively rifles), since rifle units rely on high damage per shot but have a slow ROF meaning a single missed shot is a massive loss in DPS. The reason why LMG's are so effective and negate scaling is they don't have to deal with that issue, it's also the reason why Cons scale like shit (because they can't hit anything). In: COH2 Balance
