It's less of a thing specific to Pgrens, but the whole 4 man squad bullshit makes it a lot harder on Ostheer due to how easy it is to get squad wiped in this ultra high DPS/squad bunching meta.
If Pgrens didn't die so easy then they wouldn't be UP in my opinion, their damage out put is excellent and they are a good all round unit. |

This is the only change about survivability sturms got.

Their close range got reduced to 3 from 8 though.
Talking about deluded, you obviously didn't play the game at WFA release because Sturms turned all infantry but shock troops to hamburger, people were just winning entire games making nothing but sturms.

Volks are the worst infantry unit at the start of the game barring engineers/rear echelons, this is by design as they are cheap and easy to reinforce. But for them to be equal to vet 0 cons they need to get to vet 3, and then beyond that they will start out preforming conscripts. Again, this is by design as they do tend to vet up quite fast thanks to the shrek.
If volks had better AI power or some sort of AI upgrade OKW players wouldn't always need to go for Obers in order to counter Rifleblobs/Shock/Con spam. It's really not that complicated, Sturms just aren't the insane infantry killing machines they used to be since they got a big nerf to survivability. |

On topic: 1 panzerschrek for 120 munis would be completely retarded. A schrekked up PGren will still not counter armor on its own, it'll just be support for PaKs (which I think is a great role). If you seriously lose tanks to just PGrens the problem is with you.

You know people keep talking about how Axis have cooler tanks at the moment but honestly that just isn't true. Most of the cool axis tanks are out of the meta, and the rest aren't even in the bloody game!

Ostheer and OKW have lots of synergy togeather, it's pretty well documented and it's why they do so well in team games together. They fill each others "holes" if you will.
Soviets and USF don't really have that, both have very good early game, and very good mid game, then eh. |
Giving Sturms 2 shreks isn't going to make shreks any less of a problem, you will have a starting unit with them. You could give a totally new OKW starting unit shreks and the same issue would exist.
The reason the shrek exists for OKW early game is that OKW specifically lacks fuel based AT, that's it. There isn't some out the ass complicated justification for shreks existing on a starting unit, it's clear as day. The first dedicated anti armor platform you can build is at a 135 fuel at reduced income from a HQ you need to build. And making said anti armor platform robs you of other options.
KT isn't the root of OKW's problems, it's just exacerbated by the fact that you don't have much between the starting units and a KT that you need to build or can build. Most games a OKW player will be forced to spend fuel in order to say alive, and they will have to spend it wisely. The whole saving and delaying for a KT puts OKW in a hard spot because they will be lacking vehicle platforms to counter the numerous mediums and other vehicles allies can produce.
As long as the fuel penalty exists people will always be extremely picky with what they make, and they will make game winners not game changers, get what I'm saying? |
