Thread: Remove free lieutenant30 Apr 2015, 16:45 PM Making teching a requirement for all call in's, not just Soviet ones would help extend the game out a little bit and make Axis heavies like the Tiger and Jadgtiger/Elefant require more investment just like the Soviet call in's would. The assumption that call in meta is only a problem with Allies ignores the fact that if call in's were tied to tech then having to get T4 would delay the Tiger a lot. Soviets wouldn't have an issues because they wouldn't have to fight enemy call in's either, fighting Ost stock units with Soviets stock units isn't that hard at all, and USF and OKW stock units are great making it easy for them to hold out. Things like USF pop cap abuse, call in meta fuckery, and whatnot all can swing the tide in the favor of Allies late game in order to make up for the perceived weakness in stock units. If you assume Axis players make smart choices in doctrine, and Allies make dumb choices in doctrine then of course Axis players will win, but if both sides pick the correct doctrines then the odds will be much much more even. Picking horrible doctrines in 3's and 4's as Axis will mess you up very hard if your facing opponents using meta doctrines like IS2's, 85's or ISU with mark target, P-47's, Priests, ect. If you want to write an actually informative post on 3's and 4's you need to come at it from a neutral perspective rather than an assumption of weakness on the Allies part and assumption of strength on the Axis part. The march deployment (not this recent one) created call in meta by making Soviet call in's way more efficient and attractive than stock options. Honestly it would be much less dumb/op/broken if call in's were tied to teching for Soviets. In: Lobby

If your remove the lieutnant/captain, you also remove its cost No, you keep the cost the same and make you pay a price worthy of getting a BAR squad or a Zook squad. The issue is getting to much free shit with teching, thus is makes sense to allow tech to be acquired but you need to pay extra to get the bonus's from them. Riflenades, LMG unlock, Pfaust, Shrek. All part of teching for Ostheer. Yes Soviets are just boned. Teching isn't an issue for Soviets due to the power of call in's. Why tech when you don't need to? In: Lobby

Axis options of squad wiping are more expensive, but they are also much more lethal. Most axis players scream imbalance when allied tank or shell one shots a squad and they scream that nothing should one shot squad and then we have unit like sturmtiger which erases anything it hits below 140 fuel cost. The stuka isn't much less expensive than the Katyusha if you count teching, and it don't count it it's almost twice the cost! And lol I'm one of the only people that use the Sturmtiger and I can assure you that most people never use it because the micro investment to use it a fuckbillion times bigger than using 120's, Easy Eights, or T34/85's. The complaint is that cheap shit can wipe squads super well, not that super expensive stuff like the Sturmtiger is capable of doing it. In: COH2 Gameplay
