I set my blitz rating record today on http://www.chess.com. 1791... I'm pretty happy about that
Nice!
My blitz rating is more modest,1360. It was around 1500 before but it just kept dropping after massive losing streaks. |
Crew difference
The only thing that justifies random squad wipes. |
I played 3 or 4 german games yesterday. In none of them were there any problems supressing the first unit arriving.
Did any of the MGs die from Molotovs? Sure. When I had too short spotting or insufficient micro, they died before they could relocate or flee. WAD.
I find that the wide arc is a significant advantage. There are just so many more approaches you can cover fully with the MG42 where the maxim leaves critical gaps.
So even if supression might be inferior to the maxim, the overall value of the MG42 is not lower.
I haven't tested this but I think that if you oorah before the MG fires, you don't get suppresed by the MG.
This is actually a problem. |
I completely agree with what Esky wrote.
It's about time we put aside the differences in the cold war and appreciate what has been done for us by soldiers which, as all of the COH franchise has shown us, have very little effect on the policies of whatever governments and ultimately are just people fighting against each other.
By looking at a company rather than an army level, this franchise really should not include as much politics as they did (by that, I mean, make the things Esky described the main theme). Instead, they just derp at this point and make the main theme of the russians the things that they did. |
Fuel denial in COH2.
Best joke ever. |
Yea, because in 1vs1s equate to 3v3s...All the 1v1 pr0s owned at Scheldt. Here's your 3v3 guide.
1.)Make OPs
2.)Spam heavy armor
3.)???
4.)Profit

This was gold |
In team games is important lock fuel points. In 1v1 you have one near base. In 3v3 and 4v4 you must fight for fuel with enemy.
All of the balance gets done in 1v1 games so we won't consider team games as much.
But seriously, why would you waste a unit right next to the base. Really, one place an MG would be great at would be near a cutoff.
A gren is much more costeffective. It doesn't have the area denial that a MG42 has but its still better than an MG42 placed near the base. |
@The Courier
You know, I think the MG42 was fine...
Until you saw the 500MP patch where these days now, in the early game, you see upwards of 6 gren/con squads, meaning that crowd control is actually now an important thing.
What's the result? MG42 all of a sudden becomes unviable. |
@Nullist, I doubt anyone here was ever doubting the severity of any war crimes on the Eastern front.
What people are thinking however, that the consistency of this appearing in almost every mission makes the cause on the Eastern Front from the Russian point of view almost completely exaggerated - where every partisan got shot in the back for instance.
That, to any non-biased person, seems to be the main problem with the story as depicted by COH2. |
I like the chance involved in CoH. You know X unit will reliably beat Y unit almost all the time. It also makes every match a unique and epic story rather than a monotonous grind, which I find SC & Dota to be (not saying they aren't good games, just my preference).
There's 3 VP's left for the opponent and my squad is capping the tipping VP point, their Tiger is lining them up, and I don't know what's going to happen...
I kinda like it as well but there's a fine line between chance playing a good role (VCoH) and chance being overdone in a game (CoH2 atm, check out a sniper just killing a full man conscript squad at full health).
So yeah, what most people are asking for here isn't a complete change of RNG, they just want it to be toned down a bit which I agree with. |
