That's like saying obers need to be brought in line with conscripts or grens, because they are OP, ignoring completely their cost and timing.
Obersoldaten lose to Units considerably cheaper than themselves. If the T-70 would routinely lose to a single 222, you could bet your ass there would be threads asking for buffs to T-70.
A vet 5 Obersoldaten in green cover for example loses to a vet 0 Shocktroop charging across red cover. Without fail, tested it like ten times. When Obersoldaten come out, they lose to Rifles and Infantry sections.
Obers also come out much, MUCH later than a T-70 and cost more overall.
In other words, yes, this is exactly what was done to Obers. |

I think the T70 is OP. I think without it, Soviet midgame would be quite bad compared to the other factions. Around this time other factions start decking out their infantry with weapon upgrades, and getting some nade-kills in. Soviets 7-man upgrade comes quite a bit later so they need more Oohmpf in their light tank to fill the gap. Maybe moving the 7-man upgrade to T3 (without the cost) and nerfing the T70 a bit is the way to go.
Nobody wants to remove the T-70. It's just supposed to be brought in line with it's counterparts like Luchs, AEC and Stuart and also it's own cost of course, compared to which especially it is ridiculously overperforming. |
According to vippers own definition in old threads calling for churchill nerfs the Churchill is a "heavy" and so is the tiger.
Cool story bro, if it were a heavy it would be limited to 1 and it would exclude all other heavies from being called in. The Command Panther is classified as a heavy, for example, by relic. The KV 1 and Churchill is not, and if those were suddenly classified heavies, they would be getting nerfs, and not buffs. |

When is something being done about it? The damage this unit does is simply unfair, no other unit in the game can light a candle to it in terms of sheer devastation and ability to wipe squads.
It's funny, at this point, the only vehicle in the entire Axis roster that has a better AI, regardless of cost, is the Sturmpanzer IV. |
That is is imply not true
A JP firing at Churchill at max range will needs on average 63.5 sec to kill it.
A FF firing at a Tiger at max range will needs on average 58.7 sec to kill it without even using Tulips.
Note here that the price ratio greatly favors the FF.
(calculation are made using DPS by adjusting damage and taking into account accuracy and penetration)
Notice also how he conveniently left out that the Tiger is a doctrinal fuel heavy and the Churchill is a much much cheaper stock tank(and not even a heavy at that) |
I love this "I only have 1 unit, but opponent always has perfect combination of multiple units to protect his more expensive unit and hardcounter my single unit" type of arguments.
Also, Panthers rof is in line with any other tank destroyer in game, its quite a long time since its like that.
It is more expensive to get 1 Panther than to get 1 KV 2 and 2 ZiS. |
If just having 6 man squads is so beneficial to having 4 man squads, Osttupppen would be the dominating meta.
That is correct, hence why I am fully for buffing the allied factions by reducing their squad size to 4, and nerfing the axis factions by increasing their squad sizes to 6. |
But the obsession with four men = bad has to end. The only major issue was old gren indirect wipes and mines. Both fixed years ago
I absolutely agree. We should remove 6 men squads from Sov, and add them to axis. As you said, no changes would occur, because they were all fixed years ago! |
Let's be honest katitof has a point. When the patch hits ostruppen will be in a better place too with that reinforce and capspeed. Plenty of axis doctrinal inf that are fiveman or more
So let's stop the crying about four man squads, something Brits and USF also have
All factions have 4 man squads, it's just that thy are the norm for axis and the exception for allies. Axis has to pick a doctrine to get higher squad sizes, allies have it stock, as well as having considerably more potent infantry from the get go.
Simply said, if you would exchange squad sizes(or even squads for that matter) it would be a big buff to axis and a big nerf to allies. |
And which vehicle Tiger will lose to except IS-2 in direct firefight again?
IS 2, Pershing, ISU-152, SU 85, Jackson, Firefly. Tiger is easily countered by vehicles which costs considerably less than itself. An IS 2 will meanwhile win against JP-4, Stug, Panther and Tiger.
All this while ALSO having higher anti infantry damage, as well as being supported by more effective infantry and tanks. |
