Honest and Polite Question will get a Honest and Polite Response:
I am not interested in tournaments, I don't play in them, I don't watch them, I very rarely play 1v1 and I don't care about them. It was not a condition of me, or so far as I am aware anyone else, joining staff that I do any of those things and I don't intend to. Most the content I generate is directed at the lower skill level and 3v3 and 4v4 crowd that is otherwise un-catered for.
That in itself merely makes me indifferent.
But each time a 1v1 player gets upset?
I smile inside
Because they spent most of my early time on this site condescending to me and the others like me who are the vast majority of the player base, actually pay the bills for Relic and keep the game alive because we aren't good enough or worthy of their attention.
So maybe if they did not treat everyone else like pudding I would have some sympathy
You Know what's funny ? It's been an upcoming trend lately to complain about "elitist" and "arrogant" 1v1 players who assault casual players for their game mode preferences. This would be perfectly understandable if those people actually existed but they don't. |
You said something similar to me even though my post was 100% on topic and completely non biased. Seems like everyone who does not post something like "+1 great post you're brilliant " should f*ck off ? |
That's silly and please don't derail the thread, among with others.
This thread is about nothing but the two suggestions I pointed out.
Everyone interested in the thread itself, please refer to page one, where some of the longer and more relevant posts are.
I refered to your 2nd point |
None of the factions should gain additional income from their allies caches. It's impossible to balance a cache in all game modes when it is 4 times as strong in 4v4 as it is in 1v1. |
I love the balance forums |
We would have a main patch that fixes would be added to after they have been approved by the community. When a solution is being tested people could test it with the main patch and see if it works well with everything else.
Sorry, I don't quite get what you're saying. Maybe it's because I'm tired What I'm talking about is the process of finding good and valid balance fixes. |
Relic isn't making the patch. The community would be handing over a finalized patch over to Relic in the end.
Someone will have to decide what is included and what isn't. Be it relic or community members. |
Well, Luvnest and my thought was that the community could give ideas for solutions to the programmers in our community and a programmer could try the solution, upload the solution, and then we could all test it and give feed back. After the solution has been finalized it could be added to a main patch.
Imagine the whole CoH2 community trying to provide good ideas for a balance patch. There would be a massive flood of good and bad ideas impossible for relic to keep track of. |
Cruzz is one person in the community. Why would Relic take one person's work seriously? We need the community as a whole to put something together and bring it to Relic after all the work has been done.
As Inverse said, most people in this community have no idea about balance. If they involved the whole community there would never be an agreement on anything because of cluelessness, fanboyism, trolling etc |
This type of patch would be something that would take some time to put something together and would involve the whole community.
Cruzz proves you wrong. I'm 100% sure that his patch is better than what we have atm even though it's far from perfect. |
