Thread: What is the state of Panzer 4 on the Winter Balance Patch10 Feb 2017, 23:14 PM If they don´t fix the a) Cromwell / Panzer IV and b) Comet / Panther matchup by either nerfing the British vehicles or buffing the German vehicles, I´d call that a failed patch. Even more so since I read here somewhere a StuG nerf (Ausf. G) was considered. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: 39min to bring down one bofors..8 Feb 2017, 13:14 PM The real problem is the invincibility feature emplacements come with in the form of the "brace" ability. This snowballs later when the Axis player tries to force a brace on one emplacement but the other emplacements (mortar pits + crewed Bofors) can destroy the Axis artillery faster than the Axis artillery can destroy the targeted emplacement. All this while the Axis player has to make sure to force the emplacements into brace and then constantly fire once brace wears off. We can see this difference in micromanagement required in the featured game. Hero could have pushed into Joves base more than one time - all for having built four emplacements and going into spectator mode. In: COH2 Gameplay

The other problem could be avoided if we tied Tigers, IS-2s etc. to teching. Only able to "call in" when you have built T4. Similar to the T-34/85. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: What should be BUFFED with certainty?5 Feb 2017, 17:16 PM I think with the power creep the Western Armies brought to the game and the second power creep that the Brits brought (for the Allies exclusively), heavy vehicles need an overhaul completely. Mind you that mostly the old armies (Ostheer and Soviets) have access to those heavy call in vechicles (ISU-152, KV-2, IS-2, Tiger I, Elefant). At this point I think the limit of only having one on the field at a time could be reverted. This was needed when SU-85s, Su-76s, M36s and StuGs weren´t buffed and there were no Fireflies or Comets around. Currently heavy tanks are little more than a medium. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Tiger Ace's resource penalties1 Feb 2017, 13:40 PM We had this discussion before. I stay with my opinion: The Tiger Ace is bad design. It rewards a player that couldn´t hold his fuel point (getting a tank for no fuel) and it punishes a player that is able to keep his Tiger alife (crippling ressource penalty). Maybe buy three SVT-40 or a DP-27 (because it's RLA soldiers and fought with Soviet weapons) after T3 or T4 construction? Not too sure about that. Osttruppen are hard to define as they are. I feel they are OP the first 5 minutes and then become practically useless (good for grabbing stuff). A straight up lategame buff to Osttruppen would make the OP as a whole and lead to more spam. That´s the Comet. Versatility is not the Panthers strenght. Especially not the Ostheer Panthers. I suggest you look up the stats. The Ostheer Panther doesn´t have as efficient MGs. In fact it kills a conscript every 15 or so seconds. This is appaling. The rate of fire of the main gun is also worse than that of a Panzer IV which penetrates most tanks anyway while being better versus infantry. If microed well one Cromwell can kill a Panther, two will for sure - for the same fuel cost. That is how "well" the Panther performs in the AT department. But I forgot, it´s not supposed to counter medium tanks for cost. That´s not its role. It´s role is to appear once every full moon and kill a heavy tank only to return to insignificance after that. Thread: What should be BUFFED with certainty?29 Jan 2017, 13:05 PM Ostheer Panther. It´s a downgrade from tier 3 vehicles in terms of dps against vehicles. All while being shit versus infantry. I would like to remind you that Ostheer was supposed to have an additional tier to compensate for their 4 men squads. Meanwhile only Brits have that additional tier. Ostheer has a downgrade from tier 3 in terms of AT. In: COH2 Balance

To be completely done we need specific feedback about specific vehicles. i.e., how people used the vehicles and why said vehicle was OP/UP in that role. Attaching a replay in that comment will also help us identify whether there was something else going on. The patch won´t be satisfying with at least an Ostheer Panther buff since it comes later than the OKW one and is worse (MGs, reload). That rate of fire is appaling. For a faction that was supposed to have an additional tier the Panther is simply unsatisfying. Worse the Brits who were supposed to be on par with Ostheer lategame simply dominate with their Cromwells and Comets. The Panther has no utility whatsoever. In: Lobby
Thread: Relic Winter Balance Preview v1.6 Update23 Jan 2017, 13:40 PM Jump back to quoted post23 Jan 2017, 12:25 PMMirdarion Because I did try it, and it worked exactly as I described it: Pioneers with their performance as of WBP 1.6 are better Assault Grens than Assault Grens, with the exception of that grenade ability. The Pioneer buff is actually not the most important thing here though, as I wrote above (reading does tend to help with understanding), the direct and indirect nerfs thrown onto Assault Grens are much more significant in this matter. As much as I´m a fan of the good old Pionierspam I´m curious how this does not overthrow the balance to Soviet Combat Engineers which are only 20mp cheaper and have even less combat value.
