You don´t need to have Panthers and Tigers to fight off T-34s and Su-85s. In 90% of all cases you are going to face IS-2 and/or T-34/85 call ins. In this meta a Brummbär doesn´t help either. Thread: The Brummbar6 Apr 2015, 21:33 PM The problem I have with the Brummbär: Ostwind > Brummbär Why would I build it? There´s a cheaper unit, that´s earlier available, that deals damage more consistently. The only thing the Brummbär has over the Ostwind is better armor and a better alpha damage. You can fight AT-guns every now and then. However with mobility and cost and time available added into the equation I still think the Ostwind is better. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Is the King Tiger still worth 260 fuel?6 Apr 2015, 15:39 PM Some anecdote about the KT and IS-2 issue from my recent 1v1 OKW vs Sovs: I denied his fuel for half the game. Even before I could build a KT, he called in an IS-2. Long live the glorious IS-2 no tech meta. Thus I had to call in a Panther. The Panther then lost because a German anti tank vehicle obviously isn´t supposed to counter tanks. Raketenwerfer support was useless because of the pathetic range. Conclusion about the pricing: Even if half of the game your fuel is denied as Soviet, you can call in an IS-2. And if you hold both fuels as OKW, you still can´t afford a KT by that time. What remains to support a KT in anti tank is actually pathetic. If you build a KT, you won´t have anything else for anti tank than Schrecks and Raketenwerfer. Every decent (in other terms: costing fuel) anti tank option throws back the KTs arrival. Thus if you see a KT on the field its support is most likely weak or you have hit the one hour mark in your game. The price is just ridiculously high. Pre-patch I could at least tell myself it´s so high because the unit actually performs well. Now it´s overpriced shit. In: COH2 Balance

I mean, 375 armor unit cannot be used to break line becasue it's too weak but IS2 with same armor is very good at breaking lines? It would only be a double standard if we ignored 1) that you can get out two IS-2s by the time the first KT arrives, 2) the IS-2 is decently mobile and can drive away. The latter is the most important difference between an intact and a destroyed tank. If you drive into a trap with the KT, it´s going to be destroyed. An IS-2 has always an opportunity to hit the reverse gear and get away safely. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Is the King Tiger still worth 260 fuel?5 Apr 2015, 10:25 AM People need to stop arguing that the King Tiger should be borderline useless because it´s non doctrinal. That doesn´t justify it being a bad unit. Actually it makes things even harder. You can´t just no tech into call ins with it, eventually making it even more expensive. The worst thing is that the IS-2 is more mobile and thus can escape. The King Tiger can´t. A unit you can´t afford in 80% of the games anyway and which in the other 20% is a total gamble, isn´t a unit that is going to be used. The King Tiger was hit multiple times with this patch. Jacksons have better penetration, its armor was nerfed and Blitz was nerfed. This was simply too much. A classic Relic mistake. The king tiger is probaly the only axis vehicle that gets just absolutely useless veterancy stats. Agreed. I think it should get its old armor value back with vet 2. In: COH2 Balance

Agreed. IS-2s having the same frontal armor as King Tigers is not logic. One is an end of tech tree tank for almost double the initial fuel cost, the other one can be spammed within the doctrine and requires no tech. If the KT has its frontal armor nerfed for Allies to fight it frontally, the same logic should apply to the IS-2. The IS-2 actually is more survivable than the KT now since it can move faster eventually leading to the IS-2 being the way cheaper and even better performing tank. IS-2s really have become a problem. Thread: Is the King Tiger still worth 260 fuel?2 Apr 2015, 18:30 PM Feels like a glass cannon now - despite having still IS-2 armor. Everything focuses fire on it and it goes down way too fast for my taste. Coupled with slow speed its only good for the defensive. Paying 260 fuel + buying all buildings + decreased fuel income + not spending the fuel on anything else is a bit much for a unit that can sit at one VP and guard it. Disagree with me but I´m disappointed. In: COH2 Balance
