Obers outscale all other late game infantry currently, by far. This is mostly due to them receiving two -29% received accuracy modifiers through vet, stacked on top of their base -30%. For comparison, PGrens get one -29% modifier while having a base of -20%. The LMG DPS would (probably) be fine if they didn't become immune to bullets at high vet. In: COH2 Balance

Even with AP ammo the USF AT gun only has 161-196 penetration, which puts it still below the 190-210 PaK 40 or 180-200 ZiS and Raketenwerfer. All the AT-guns get a similar penetration boost at vet 2 for Raketenwerfer (slightly lower at +25%) or vet 3 (+30%), so vet doesn't factor into their relative performance much in the penetration department. Now with the new patch coming the 57mm will have the fastest reload(not increased though, just PaK nerfed), but it's still shooting 115-140 (or 161-196 with ability) penetration shots at tanks with 300+ armor for the most part (P4s, StuGs, Ostwinds being below that mark of course)and the vet 3 penetration boost will be harder to reach. Shocks just don't have the squad wiping potential of Obers as Shocks need to be very close to do any damage at all. Good players insta-retreat once Shocks start getting close. However the biggest problem with Obers is this: Vet 3: -29% received accuracy Passive healing Vet 4: -29% received accuracy now deals suppression Two -29% received accuracy modifiers on top of the their base -30% makes them almost immune to bullets. Suppression is just icing on the cake (why wasn't it taken away from Obers when they took it away from Paratroopers?) In: COH2 Balance

There is absolutely nothing about Obersoldaten that is historically authentic. There were both American and Soviet Infantry units that were the equal of any German one. German infantry certainly didn't have the force field generators that vet 3/4 Obers seem to have. In: COH2 Balance

The BAR profile is actually pretty similar to the Garand profile, just moved up the axis to do more DPS at all ranges. In: COH2 Balance

Did Panzergrenadiers, STG Stormtroops, and STG Obers stop existing while I wasn't looking? Heck the only real "tough" assault troops on allies is Shocks. Thompson Paras have higher DPS but they aren't that survivable. In: COH2 Balance
