You are aware of the fact that you can't make Soviet non-doctrinal hardware as "awsome" as Axis. Because then you will have to change all those excellent soviet doctrines and transform them into "no go" doctrines. Like, mmm .... german infantry doctrine.... storm doctrine.... and so on.... further, you will have to accept completely useless "doctrinal abilities" like "ambush camo".... "tactical movement"...."mechanized grenadiers/pgrenadiere group"... and so on.
you realize that Soviets have their own set of terrible doctrines?
Axis have good nondoctrinal units and some good commanders as well |
you dont read carefully |
Relic should create more commanders that offer radically different playstyles. THings that come to mind are tank riders for the Soviets, an air power commander for the USF, and other special commanders. |
Commanders should give you a strategic edge but should be countered by nondoctrinal things. RIght now, if you pick the wrong doctrine it is GG, or if you pick a good commander, it is gg for the other player |
uh oh looks like parser is down again |
This was an epic game between my friends and the Axis. We failed to take the island so we shifted most of our forces middle and top. The battle for VPs had begun. The game quickly devolved into a battle of tanks. The Axis possessed an army of Panthers while we had a mixed force of TDs. heavies, and mediums. The slugfest between the two sides was brutal, savage, and unforgiving. THis was one of the most intense and epic games i have played. Please download and enjoy! |
Most of these OKW "Defenders" think the faction is perfectly fine and they have penalties or whatever. God forbid if they have to micro their heavy tanks and OberShrekBlob without giving "attack move" order.
or when they think they have epic comebacks with their king tigers, jagdtigers, and ober + schreck blobs |
There comes a point where i take everything they say with a grain of salt |
Partisans are bad because they are... Partisans, literally hobos that were unfit for military service in the first place.
Yes, this game is not about realism, but it should keep immersion.
The moment Civilians with stolen weapons can go toe on toe with war hardened, trained veteran troops the immersion completely breaks.
Like people already mentioned, their role is to disturb and harass behind the lines. This is what they do currently, so they are fine.
Another "we want elite infantry spawning in houses too" thread. I don't mind, but relic should then implement new units (will seem never to happen unfortunately) to keep the immersion.
lmao partisans were some of the deadliest troops in WW2. There were plenty of successful partisan movements like the Yugoslavians, French, Polish, etc. On the Eastern Front, there were hundreds of thousands of partisans. These were remnants of troops encircled in 1941-1942 and other civilians who took arms. |
Typical situation of DPS inflation. (And dare I say Axis favorism?)
Upon introduction Partisans had a very unique mechanic in spawning from buildings. To compensate for this one of a kind mechanism they were pre-nerfed with low survivability, half dps on all weapons, and a higher reinforce cost than most infantry. Despite these drawbacks intrepid players were able to make them partially viable against the weapon team reliance Ostheer.
Then I guess Relic just stopped caring and added Fallschirmjagers, Jaeger Light Infantry, and Stormtroopers. A complete 180 degrees from squads with the lowest dps in the game to some of the highest.
To be fair, Soviet players don't expect nor want Fallschirmjagers, but like other doctrinal units this clearly needs to be updated for WFA. I would expect them to be about equivalent to ppsh cons at a cost of about 320 manpower and a reasonable reinforce cost.
i agree with your points. older doctrines and units need to be updated and revised |
