Mechanized in name yes. This fantasy PE and OKW mashup faction would play quite differently from Ost (Though mechanized assault has some superficial likenesses, it would play out quite differently and with a more locked tech path). Early game you would see one or two light half-tracks mixed in with the dynamic between long ranged light infantry and the sturmpios.

This would then morph in to a infantry centric game supported by light vehicles and assault guns. And unlike Ost, it would actually be possible (and probably advisable) to use panzergrenadiers as the real backbone of your infantry force as the game progresses and they will have to be supported by light vehicles or assault guns/tank destroyers. Rather than having the light vehicles or early armour function as shock units (an exception to this would be the 2cm 250 since this would basically be a slower but sturdier scout car)

And unlike both Ost doctrines with mechanized in the name the endgame here does not include a heavy tanks as linebreakers, so this one is still based on teching to reach a real tank, and then its a panther that still needs plenty of other supporting units to bring home victory.

Panzer Elite was a mechanized force, traits of which already exist within the Ostheer faction. I would rather see a buff to Panzergrenadiers.

This "suggestion" is way more of a mechanized force than Ostheer is. And if we had this instead of the current OKW I think the meta would be more interesting (and since due to the way it is laid out with the light vehicles being more longer ranged support roles instead of shock units, its game-play should not be as binary as the one PE had.)

Well that certainly would not hurt.
I kinda like most of the US commanders, most of them affect how the game plays out in a noticeable way, so for them it is mostly a matter of polish. And more would simply be some new options.

To be fair OKW is in kind of a bad spot structurally, and a commander that shakes things up would be more of a band aid... But I see that sort of bandaid as more realistic than a proper rework (Of either the faction or basically all the commanders)

I feel this is to reliant on fuel transfer (to get stuff out in a resonable time) to be based around such a munitions heavy commander.

If you ask me, the pz4 battlegroup is almost a trap. Since it a huge fuel and mubitions sink for something that you still can loose relatively easily. The build already gives you a puma and if you have the munitions for abilities the can stop almost anything as long as you use them aggressively like you suggest with pz4

Sice the BO already techs up i would be more inclined to go with the panther with a comander as a safer AT backbone unless I really got my oponent against the wall.

And to be fair the panzer elite of COH1 was basically the recon contingent with incoming reinforcement of a panzer grenadier force. (That is why it uses the 250 with variants as well as second rate armor as the game progresses)

The 2 panthers are an obvious break from this, but they are an of map, and probably represent a real panzer force. (The armored recon element with reinforcements theme still work there)

That is basically the same theme I went with here, the big difference is that I opted for regular panzer grenadiers to be brought in as the game progresses as well.
