you definitely have to adjust your strategy to incorporate the pak43 into your unit roster. i almost always go fortifications in 2v2s now, and have had really good success with it. I always go for a very aggressive medic truck, and secure a large portion of the map with mg34s and a kubel. i place my pak43 next to the medic truck, so that if it gets hit by arty i can just reinforce, and sturmpioneers can just repair it quickly. its a very good unit to hold off allied armor until you can get your king tiger out. crossing is a very small map, and therefore maxim spam is very strong on that map. its really hard to cross the river and they can lock you out of the fuel very early. also artillery is very strong on that map because the map itself is so small. ettelbruck is very strong for OKW because you can wire off the top VP with fortified wire, and then slowly wire off the rest of the streets until only the middle vp and bottom vp are available to the enemy. then you just mass mgs and arty. minks is a pretty strong axis map right now since OKW can place their medic truck right next to the middle VP around the 2min mark and then push the left side and their fuel simultaenously using kubels/mg34s/mg42s. its very easy to take their fuel and hold it for most of the game. it is usuable in 2v2s. typically you can get it rather quickly if you go mechanized first ,convert to fuel as often as possible, and not build the medic or schwerer. you definitely skimp out on anti-infantry power and its rather difficult for panzerfusiliers and volks to hold off shocks and paras, but thats where your ally fills in. the piercing attribute is also not unique, the pak88 for both OKW and Wehr have the piercing attribute, and the ISU's concrete shell is also piercing. in higher levels of play of 2v2e the jagdtiger is almost a must because the ISU is very good against every other axis tank. if you remove piercing, it becomes extremely map dependent, and is also basically a glorified elefant. id rather see it keep its piercing but have a range nerf. do you like, even think about the consequences of your balance suggestions? i can still shrek blob with reduced income as long as i DONT throw grenades. the 100% income allows me to upgrade to shreks, and to throw grenades. 66% only allows me to upgrade to shreks. either way i WILL get shreks no matter what, as theyre the highest priority and one of the most important things to have in the OKW mid game something has to change about the OKW faction so that there are more munition sinks. messing with income or prices will just force players to economize on grenades and mines. but all those light vehicles pose a very significant threat if they come out in a timely matter. in addition, any OKW vehicles are very big fuel investments so that even knocking one out is a huge win for the USF. for example, if you take out a puma with a mine, your m20 or AA halftrack have almost free reign to harass enemy units. the luchs is extremely deadly to infantry, and if u can knock it out, you wont have to worry about it. you can sort of negate minesweepers by being careful with mine placements. generally heavy tanks will be used to spearhead a push, so if u put the mine on ur side of the map, often times heavy tanks will overextend and run into them while their sweepers lag behind. Don't forget there's a bug that lets it suppress on the move. Keepo do people still not know how suppression works? like EVERY unit deals suppression but the Kubel just shoots fast enough during its mobile mode that it can suppress. its not a bug its a direct consequence of its stats. More than shocks, more than stg44 obers. USF has the most amount of smoke abilities out of the 4 factions. Also why would you use the ability in the open? Use it only when you're in green cover. Same with stormtrooper stg44s In: COH2 Balance |
